I think you are talking about the O2 sensor as what I mentioned earlier? That little device stalled my car randomly for almost a year! But I think his problem is his own country does not sell the Cerato, so spares are hard to come by.

I emailed KIA last week and they responded yesterday telling me that because my CERATO is no longer located in Singapore, that they would not be able to assist me. I have fully understand though. Right now I'm waiting on my local KIA dealership here in Trinidad to get the fuel filter in stock. They say it should be ready by Thursday. Strange. perhaps the link I gave you originated from Singapore and was setup by our local agent, so they do not support outside of our country. You may want to try the international site contact instead. Good luck on the fuel filter !

Hey Mobinaut LMF, Just realised my car above 90K mileage also! And I do hope that it will last all the way to 10 years because COE to ex liao. Currently mine is 4.5 years old. Only issue is higher fuel consumption and a loose contact on my central lock which sometimes locks the car immediately after I unlock it!

As long as your compressor is running, your aircon will blow cold air but the hot part of tyour cooling system may not be getting sufficient cooling. This is through the cooling fins being cooled by the fan. My guess you travel on expressway, so the air current is compensating for your fan but this will not be good long term especially if you are in slow traffic on hot afternoon. The fan turns when the fins are hot which is when you run the aricon. Once it cools down, it will auto cut off. Your description ooes seems that it is reversed. So perhaps so connector has been put in revers as what the others suggested? regards

Scary man....I wonder why they use plastic?? Otherwse we can weld the crack back and it will be cheaper. Or maybe we can use the stuff NASA uses to repair their space shuttle. The shuttle decommissioned so may have lots of ex-srtock high temp sealant

Thanks 4 the info. Actually, my car won't start at all. it just cranks. The battery is new also. Checked the timing belt? if it breaks, the engine seizes and possibly the pistons may be damaged too. Regards

Hi Bro I take it the car cranks but refuses to start ? Or does it cough a little before dying? Checked the battery already? It may be near its service life and unable to provide enough current to crank the engine.
I used to drive a Spectra and had this car stoppage problem for almost a year. The car would suddenly stop and would sputter and die down. The agent changed alot of parts including the spark plugs, the fuel pump, etc but nothing seemed to work. In the end, it was traced to the O2 sensor. That's the device connected to the exhaust pipe under the boot used to sense the exhaust gas. Hope you find the problem soon. Good luck!
ps btw, is yours an auto car? You may already know this and it may sound silly but the car won't start if the gear is not in "P" mode. Its a safety feature.

That's 5 years old liao. Cars tend to have more problems after 5th year. if your mileage is high, (>30K per year), then most of the stuff will need maintenance (eg overhaul, replacement etc). And yes, downgrading to 15" rims helps alot too. ;D

Thanks. As I have stated, I previously had 15" rims but the 16" came free with the car, so after 2 months, I switched to it. But I am also saying I managed to get 11.5-12 km even on my 16" rims when I had mostly highway driving. Now that my office is changed to an urbanised area, its down to around 10km these days.... Man, I read for the new Forte, its possible to use a Samsung Galaxy tab to do diagnostics. I have the tab but don't know if the Cerato V2 has this option...

Average around 450-550km. Best I've got before was 600km per full tank. Bro I noticed your water temp at halfway mark. is that normal? Mine usually at 1 marker below halfway mark.

I used to get about 550-600km on my Variant 2 1.6Auto when I travelled highway often but these days I get around 450 to 480km only. Whether you travel by mostly highway or normal street driving is important. But yes, the smaller the sports rims and tyres, the better the FC. M FC dropped when I "upgraded" from R15 185mm to R16 205 mm tyres. This was what I could achieve previously when mostly on highway! (Today the same part of the fuel indicator only clock 300-320km! )

Airconvent, you've mentioned that some ex-members observed when they first got their V1 many years back meaning that after years, the fuel consumption will rise meaning that the car will take more petrol? yup..as a car ages, it will consume more petrol. That's normal as components wear off and the engine no longer running like new.
