Hi Hattee! Just making a courtesy call after our meeting this evening! Thanks for being patient. BTW, I did drive the Magentis as a courtesy car when I sent my car for checks previously. Not too bad. A little sluggish in power though. The new Magentis corrects many of the shortfalls in the older model such as no sunglass holder, no front light. Overall alot of improvements. I am taken to compare this with the new Hyundai Avantis which isn't so bad either. Internally just as nice but I felt the Magentis has a more solid feel.
BTW, my 1.6A Specta is giving me 9-10km/l so if your 2 litre can give you 11km, its amazing! My experience driving the magentis courtesy car for a few days indicated FC is around 9-10km/l also.

Hey Bro What is QF?? I wonder in boosting your power you pay the price in FC? Do let us know once you have an idea on the FC...

Thanks bro. My FC is not getting better. Today just started to pump 92. Feel slight difference as compared to 98 in terms of acceleration. But as you said in S'pore, no point to spend on power which we don't need at all. Shall see how is it and i will update. Thanks. sure, brudder, just go easy on the accelerator pedal....heh heh

Bro, just to check with you, currently are you using 92, 95 or 98? I have been using 98 so far for the past 1.5 mths since collected my car but due to the sky high price in petrol, my friend advised me to switch to 92 as my specs allows me to use 92. But just want to check with you if i change to 92, will it affect the performance and the FC? Except when I drive to Malaysia (once a year or so), I always pump 92. No point wasting money on "power" you do not need. Remember 98 can be 30 cents more than 92! I think the specs for all Kia cars are 91 and above. Recently I came back from KL after visiting my relative. Pumped their 98 but felt no difference in speed or FC except the engine seems a little rougher... btw. my tank 31 and 32 are using malaysia Mobil 98. ( The 15km/l was due to continuous speed at 110k on NS highway.) cheers

Again topped up at half tank to see if there is improvement. Don;t seem to have...so will stop this practice.

Not too bad. Half tank @ 360km and getting 11.97km/l. As expected, 98 Malaysian fuel did nothing to improve the FC.

I was amazed. Driving at constant 110km/h yielded 12.9km/l whereas on return leg when I pushed to 130km/h yielded 15.8km/l I am not sure if it has something to do with topping up fuel earlier or not. Also, I had to use Synergy F1 (which is same as Synergy 98) and my impression is this fuel appears to be rougher than 92 ! Maybe its because of the extra power in the additives making the combustion stronger. Anyway, I will start topping up fuel at 3/4 tank and see how it goes..

BTW, What is the V2 RPM while you drive up to the speed of 100Km/h ? Around 2800 rpm. At 120km, its 3000rpm confirmed by me. ;D

yes....I prefer it that way. when i sold off my 14 year old starlet years back, the dealer was so amazed the car was so original...original upholstery, original steeing wheel, gear shift, brake pedals! He said he will market it as the "gentleman's car"! But franky my main focus is not on power but FC and running cost. Will not skimp on maintenance but will not waste money on unnecessary stuff also... ;D

Hello Bandit Welcome to Sg Kia Club! I noticed you are here to talk about tuning but because of strict regulations here, its much less that you can see. More often than not, I see people playing cat and mouse game with the traffic authority with their mods...heh heh Mine is stock though as I prefer it that way...
