Can bros who drove the varinat 2 comment on this? SEs will always claim the vehicles that they are selling can achieve FC of at least 12 to 13km/lit. I went to Komoco and check out the Avante before i book my V2 and the SE claimed that Avante has the best FC among its class at 14 to 15km/lit. Ultimately, it still boils down to your driving habits.

True, it all depends on individual's driving habit as some have heavy foot and some have light foot so the FC will be different. But definitely V2 FC will be better than Avante as Kia has done modification and tuning to the ECU for V2 and Cerato while Hyundai did not put in effort to tune the ECU for their Avante. There are already examples for their Matrix and Elantra compared to our Cerato as we are using the same engines.

If you have check Club Hyundai, most Avante owners are only getting between 10 - 12km/litre, only few can get higher than 10-12km/litre. I believe if V2 can also get around 12 km/litre or higher for Auto Transmission, it is consider very good as V2 is much more heavier and spacious than Avante.

Dear Ben, i agreed that Elantra and Matrix using the same engine with Cerato, but for the case of Avante, seems like different. i have seen V2 complain about FC, but for Avante, seems like no one complain yet. SEs will always claim the vehicles that they are selling can achieve FC of at least 12 to 13km/lit. Hi, find out more from others bro about the FC for V2. when i bought my Cerato, both sales from Fulco and Leng Kee said it can achieve 12km, but that is also not false, cos i did got when i went KL using NS high way, and in fact, that's the only time....normally i got 8.5 to 10, recently weather quite good, can off the air con, able to achieve 9km/l. but one thing good about cerato, the door is very heavy, a little bit like those continental cars, if you open Nissan sunny door, it is quite light. i think i saw from web site, it has some sort of re-inforce steel for protection(i cannot remember where) but don't scold me if i am wrong. i have been driving for 2.5years, not much problem, except for expensive service charges at C&C. but one thing good, it is very near, so quite convenient. There are already examples for their Matrix and Elantra compared to our Cerato as we are using the same engines. For the Avante, they might not post it in the forum compared to our forum as we are all very open to post those complains and queries. And also for the price they pay for Avante, they have to accept if it the FC is on the high side. If you check out the polling on the FC of Avante in their forum, you can see majority is on 10-12km/litre and only few is between 13-14km/litre. For Avante, definitely they can achieve 13-14km/litre as Avante is built closely to Altis and even when they launch Avante, their pricing is competing with Altis. So Avante's weight is similar to Altis whereas for V2, our V2 is much more heavier with better built quality and metal as Kia's main market is in Europe while Hyundai is more on Asia. You will notice the difference when you compare their car design and styling. In another words, we are driving a Continental equivalent type of quality but cheaper cost Korean car, isn't that good?

But the pump attendant normally won;t squeeze in extra for you unless you pump yourself.

I was amazed. Driving at constant 110km/h yielded 12.9km/l whereas on return leg when I pushed to 130km/h yielded 15.8km/l I am not sure if it has something to do with topping up fuel earlier or not. Also, I had to use Synergy F1 (which is same as Synergy 98) and my impression is this fuel appears to be rougher than 92 ! Maybe its because of the extra power in the additives making the combustion stronger. Anyway, I will start topping up fuel at 3/4 tank and see how it goes..
