Just before my 1st 1000km servicing, this is my 2nd tank mileage at half indicator... any comments? What's the norm mileage at half tank? Hope to get a better mileage after changing the EO to fully synthetic... My guess you have >15" rims. Its a no-no if you want good FC. Mine dropped a good 0.5-1km/l when I upgraded my rims (part of new car package but installed later due to late delivery). My advice is to use mineral for another 4000km first. You should change to synthetic only at 5K servicing. Try OW30. Bad thing is C&C does not use it as they have a contract with a local oil company to use only 5W40... For auto, if you are not heavy footed, you should get around 350 at half tank and at least 400km for manual. cheers

Not removed. Just disconnected. No improvement in FC! Bro. u disconnected d heater from the engine bay No idea...I asked C&C to do it for me during 1K servicing. ;D Whatever they did, after I got back my car, the aircon was super duper cold no mattter what setting I turn to! That's why after 2 days I sent it to an aircon guy to install a thermostat.

Hmm like the headlights and cluster display, impressive but dislike keyless key.high tech==>more porblems.hope it comes with manual transmission too! to keep the price competitive, most of these features like keyless, factory installed hifi and bluetooth will not be included. I kind of preferred they gave us this choice as it would be the first time we can drive a PURE Korean Kia car and not with some organs locally installed.

The aircon will cut off of course! Otherwise it will run till iced up. Just not at your desired temperature. Its been set to a low temp of say 9-10deg and will maintain that temp. The mechanical flaps will control the flow of hot air from the heater to attain th temp you "set". For my old Spectra, I removed the heater (thinking it will save fuel!) and the aircon was measured by my thermometer to be 10deg at the outlet vent all the way. At night, I can feel the compressor cut off and on again to maintan that temp. Following that, I too paiseh to go back to C&C to reconnect the heater, so I went to an aircon guy to install a real thermostat. After that the aircon cuts off according to my set temp instead. Heater can be removed? so does it really improved in your fc after removing of your a.con heater Not removed. Just disconnected. No improvement in FC!

The autogear for V2 should only have 4 gears. 3 gears + 1 Overdrive. I can test this by switching to tiptronic mode at cruising and it indicates gear 4....

alot leh! you can see my car at car park D...heh heh I bought my Sephia for $74K! When I traded it in for the Spectra ($64K) after 3 years, I lost alot but still had a little money left to take back after clearing the loan. When upgrade from Spectra to Cerato, no such thing. Had to top about quite a lot to clear my loan because the scrap value much lower for the Spectra. Now if upgrade to new Cerato V3, will have alot of loan to clear before can even go for $0 10Year plan!

Except for the front grill, its a beauty. Wished they had retained the "Cerato" name though. I mean the Toyota Corolla name has lasted since day 1. I think Kia should have one line that will be passed on from generation to generation. Imagine decades later they still have the "Cerato" model. Myabe by then will run on Hydrogen with solar cells on roof!

huh? you mean the gear for the auto car is shown for V1? The V2 does not show it. In fact, there is not even D1/D2 or overdrive. To see my gear, I need to set it to tiptronic mode. But I do notice the car stays in gear 4 most of the time, even when I slow down alot.

Guys, I just check with my SE that New 2009 Cerato will be coming into Singapore around March 2009. Some of the features will be taken out like the Keyless Entry, Push-Start Engine Start and airbags will be minimized to 1 airbag, 2 airbags for the Premium edition. Price should be around $58K for launching price. wah....that kind of pricing will not win converts from the other makes....At $58K, we will expect non-stripped down and in premium edition. Should stick to around $50K or lesser for basic auto configuration.

if using the current G4 engine can squeeze 124hp for the new Forte... hehe.... I think the current cerato can also do it. 14km/l .. I think they must have done quite a bit of slimming.... more like improvements to the engine because physically the car is bigger than the cerato.

yucks! I do hate the front grill frame with that 2 chrome portions sticking out...hopefully the final design will not have that! And the rear looks too much like an Avante..but overall the car looks nice and if the improved FC is to be believed, I may be tempted to call Phil and upgrade again in 2 years when my Cerato V2 is 3 years old but then again, I like the V2 so much and as long as it does not give me problems, I do not see myself losing more money to upgrade which was what happened to me in the past 2 upgrades. ;D

ya...i think you're right la bro, i stop using air freshner few months ...i notice no bad smell from air-con when you first start the car. now only use spray... My only indulgence is to replace the default aircon filter with a HEPA one. Not too sure if there are any real benefits but feel more shiok knowing you are more "protected" lor ... ;D

If you have a need for a car and the Cerato V2 looks great to you, by all means go for it. The waiting game will never end. Once the 2009 model come, you will ask should wait for the 2011 model or not...just like computer upgrade.. ;D The V2 is a very nice car. Engine is smooth and both my mazda and toyota colleagues have commented how quiet the engine is cruising at 100km/h! My only grip is the 12V adapter should be improved from its awkward position and the cigarette tray should illuminated and bigger to accomodate more coins! Plus a pocket in the sun visor to slot in your cash card....

Ok bros! Just went to Defu Lane for my 5000km servicing today and I told them abt the bad smell. They checked and said the foul smell actually comes abt when we put air freshner in the car. Then the cooling coil recycles the air again causing the bad smell to come out. So advice given is dun put air freshner. Hmm.... Dunno if its true... since I first started driving 15 years ago, I have never used air freshner in my car. Reason is I do not like the continuous scent and once its in, even if you remove it, there remains a stale smell within the cabin...so far the car no smell. except on hot afternoons, must open the window a little for a minute to let the air out before driving off because without the scented air, you can smell the normal fumes given out by the plastics and oils in your car.

The compressor for the Cerato will run till air is a fixed temp of around 10 deg and then cut off. This keeps the air coming out of the aircon at around that temp. When you adjust your dial, you are actually controlling the air temp by mixing the cold air with your heater air.
For my case, my fan at first marker, temp at at 1 stop from point where hot air comes out. On hot afternoons, will turn to 9 o clock position. Otherwise always at 11.30am position.

Hi All! I have just book my Cerato V2 Auto on Sunday and will be able to collect it on 3rd week of July. Kia SE tell me FC is 12KM/L, is it true? May I know what is the 1st thing I need to MOD inorder to achieve lower FC. Thanks... I am driving a V2 auto for more than a year now. Driving profile is 60% highway, 40% urban. Can get around 11+km/l and occassionally 12+km. No mods done. However, if FC is your target, then get the smallest rims specified in the manual. I drove with the default small rims for 2 months and gotten 12+km but when my package large rims was finally installed, FC dropped to 11+km....

Mine Yokohama Aspec DB. 205R16. Just about the quietest tyre out there! Before that I had the original smaller Korean tyres (Kumho, I think). Had those for 2 months until my new rims (as part of package) arrived. My FC increased slightly when upgraded to the bigger 205mm tyres.....sigh...
