Just came back from jb..... Few hundred meters prior to my house carpark, my temp rise, so drive slowly and now temp was way too high liao.... Park car and check coolant... Coolant dried up There are some splatter at the engine bay... Open the gauge and to my surprise, no water inside..... Now i very scare liao.... So i went up and take 2x1.5l bottles to fill up the resevoir and the gauge.... When i fill up the gauge, there is hissing sound and the water like volcano come out... Its like geyser... But the temp went down.... But when i close the gauge, there is hissing sound from the side just on top of the fan.... Could there be a leak? I'm due for my 130k next 2 weeks... But i think have to go down by this week liao... Haiz.... Any advise?

Coolant bar or the plastic coolant cap? That time my coolant cap cracked and leaked. Silicon up look ok for a few days but after tat still leak. Replaced with a new one to solve the problem. I recommend you go ming ghee and buy the replacement asap. Silicon not reliable.

It's the black part right? No need to replace the radiator. Can just replace the top plastic part, I had this problem before.

Try not to silicon the crack as a temporary measure because the radiator is running under pressure and the coolant might still find it's way out.

this is common problem for cerato, coz the top made by plastic. due to high pressure, always advisable to change the whole thing. last time, i bought new radiator fm minghee abt 200+, change in JB, cant really remember the cost, but def less than rm100. just my 2cent..

Scary man....I wonder why they use plastic?? Otherwse we can weld the crack back and it will be cheaper. Or maybe we can use the stuff NASA uses to repair their space shuttle. The shuttle decommissioned so may have lots of ex-srtock high temp sealant

are there full aluminium radiators that fit cerato? instead of replacing with stock radiator and end up with cracked plastic again after a few years.
