Ain't sure what's the off set. My previous 17"x7jj rim (pre-owned) also fail to clear my caliper due to the design I think. need 7mm spacer to clear. This 17"x7.5jj, technically, wider = more room from the center of the rim to edge or rim surface (7"/2 vs 7.5"/2). It clear stock caliper easily and I think should be no issue for bigger BBK.

Change oil c get better or not. Or u can try below method... For reverse gear, experienced b4 this issue, u can try to engage 1st gear, release clutch and when u sense it engaged completely, then shift back to reverse gear, it should work.
For 2nd gear, dunno whether did u install after market or thicker carpet, as u might need to press the clutch deeper before shift from 1st to 2nd. For 2nd gear, u might

Read the service manual n stated that recommended engine oil with grade of 5w30 n 10w30. Just change from redline 5w30 to amsoil 5w30.

Personally using knn pick up of coz better (compare to stock) due to better air flow. Never try hurricane so far.

Got ppl commented that it feels like sitting inside a Benz after install with stiffener. Personally never try but since it less than 100 buck ( if not mistaken) yet lift up ur car to help easier clearance of kerbs, no harm.

Stock spring usually quite soft especially for the rear and since 5 person (adult) in the car, ur rear will looks more lower than lowering spring!
One old driving practice maybe could help is open the door n look behind to ensure it won't knock the kerbs.
Just curious how u get scratch to ur front skirt?
What color of v1 u driving?
