Will Kia service center able to detect the error using their diagnostic machine? Mine V1 auto dec05 opc 65k km only. Major problem?! Scary Sia! Go to your trusted workshop...C&C is chop & chop...if u dun mind paying u can go back to them...I cannot conclude it's major problem lah...cause check engine lights (CEL) if appear blinking means quite big problem...I driven a Subaru TS with CEL lights on, cannot figure out what's the problem. Continue to drive and the engine idling went bonkers. Eventually the water temp went up...overheating most prob due to radiator failure (maybe water pump). If your ride does not have any symtoms, you can still delay abit. But if u discover any abnormalties, please send to workshop!

blinking CEL for a couple of seconds usually means detonation/pinging or even misfiring. yes, blinking is critical engine condition and recommended to stop engine as soon as possible in a safe situation. not a air-fuel ratio or cat problem. just monitor if its a one-off. if you get it again, i recommend start working on what could be causing detonation/pinging and very rarely misfiring. check from intake to throttle to fuel injectors for blockage then check for sticky valves then check for compression leakage/leaking head gasket. my bet is all you need is a de-carbonizing session.

O2 sensor die slowly, early symptom are gradual increase in FC or FC varies from time to time. I read abit on this as I thought my O2 is dying. Turn out that my OCV has failed causing the CVVT not to work. ECU normal clear the error code after 2 standard driving cycle. 1 standard cycle is cold start.....warm up......drive at 60km/h for 5 minutes. And cold start is ECU operating at open loop when O2 is not warmup. recently i had my ecl lighted up after ws checked its the o2 sensor got problem after they reset it tikk now still ok.

My check light was blinking as well. Its a one-off thing. Wad happen was that I started my car without warming up, i started to move off. Didnt know that I was on 2nd gear without the accelerator stepped, it started to blink. But once i neutral the gear, the check light stop to blink. Monitored for 2 days, no similar incident, should i still bring the car for check?

OCV is Oil Control Valve. The CVVT shift cam by oil, the valve control that. When CCVT failed, engine tends to stall suddenly at low speed or moving off especially move off and turning. I'm going to Wong workshop this sunday for servicing same time ask to check see what's wrong if he couldn't find then will go to jb Kia service center to rectify. Btw, what is de-carbonizing session? Seem like so many got CEL light up issue. All engine will misfire eventually, everytime it happen.....the engine degrade abit. My engine misfired 29 times in 3 year........ If you want to DIY......why not buy a OBD reader.....USD$20 at aliexpress. www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/324753197-USB-Car-ELM327-Scanner-AUTO-Scan-Tool-CAN-BUS-OBD2-OBD-V1-3-wholesalers.htmlMy check light was blinking as well. After 2 days of blinking CEL during warm up early morning, it didn't show up on the 3rd day of warm up. When to change engine oil n filter n check the spark plug (denso iridium IK20 - bout 20k km used) found that one of the sparker head (needle look) got a little bend. Ain't sure this is cause of CEL blinking or not. Another finding is the AT fluid, found lot of particles or dirty AT fluid. Need to change this coming weekend, no gearbox issue or abnormal symthom though. Ain't sure will this also be part of the CEL blinking concern?
