I was in your position 3 months ago. But when u factor in the car price and petrol will not much make a difference. Cerato is quite value for money and the remains can be used for servicing and upkeeping. It's worth the investment

I drive in Singapore. It gives me 11.6km/l as average. It is about 70/30 City/E-way

I drive an 05 manual sedan since late 09 and i must say it's been trouble-free! But i did change my brake hoses as part of the preventive maintenance routine ...I have yet to achieve the kind of fuel efficiency i been reading ...

But LMF, on the road, there are still so much Cerato V1 n V2 moreover some V2 are still under warranty.... how to go obsolete so fast! But seriously, when i sat the Forte, It was like a major improvement compared to my humble Cerato V1.

its a major improvement over the seemingly more 'conventional' spectra. however forte is heavy and will always be. acceleration will be compromised as well as fuel efficiency. it may be slightly better than V1 / V2 in mileage, but no sense to top up that much; u may not recoup the petrol gains. stability wise forte is a tank, lux interior compared to ours, thats abt all. dont think too much

Forte rear torsion beam, V1 & V2 independence. The only pros abt Forte than Cerato is the ESC (Electronic Stability Control).
To thread starter, if $$ allows, go for V2. HP & torque slightly better than V1.

Hi BluePicanto, so from your explanation, is torsion beam better or independant suspension better?

Hi BluePicanto, so from your explanation, is torsion beam better or independant suspension better? Handling wise, of course independence better. Torsion beam more comfort ride. The 2-doors type-R is using torsion beam, tat's y u see so many R fans still prefer the long sedan as it's using independence.

sporty and heavy! At least our cars have an edge over the rest. Heavy meaning more stability. No need to spend more on bars and safety is there when we speed But drink fuel lor

U'll know the diff when u do corner with rear passangers. Torsion beam juz lose out slightly. That's y forte compensate bk with ESC.
Our ride not too heavy la. Look at the new Cruze, 122hp for its weight of 1.4tonne!!

seriously, i do not find cornering with V2 too much fun. there is some limitation to what this sedan can do. but yes you wont feel dangered while having your stunt played out. however the seats are just regular ones. if you dont want that flying out feel, have to get those sports seats, which may then compromise on heat and comfort.
then again it seems like only the driver feels the turns. front and rear passengers dont really complain much.
disclaimer: i dont play corner lol, last time expressway bend i did 80 to play and maybe sometime urgent. now is strictly 50-60, slow in fast out.

er no ah..........i make sure every turn i make is smooth smooth one..... ie the fastest speed i can go that is comfortable to me in my seat. but once i steer straight......heh heh heh...... due to the rising petrol price however, i never "zhuah" my car liao. also mileage no longer can claim

Anyway your decision is right to get yourself a V2. More fuel saving.
