heard some noise (sound like metal again metal) from behind intermittent while driving. Should not be brake causing because the noise still there when brake not apply. Noise observe after 45km/hr. Driving a cerato auto.

What is your mileage. It is easier for us to zoom in the problem if you are able to give us more details. However, clutch system are very mechanical (some combined with Hydraulic). You maybe experiencing pivotal force at your clutch pedal. There are mainly 2 types of transfer of motion: by cable or by hydraulic. If it is by cable, then I am very sure it is only the clutch pedal and its mechanism problem. If it is by hydraulic, then it may be a backflow of hydraulic oil that pushes your pedal upwards. However, I think the pedal mechanism has a higher chance of having problem. You may come to our workshop for a more direct investigation. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

Driving a cerato auto. Here, I have to tell all bros and sis: Sound and Colour are almost cannot be describe. Most of the time, both parties will misunderstood each other. For noise problem, a test drive must be done. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

Inspection is free. But I do hope that you can let us do the job once we found that fault. Sometime, we have to start the repair inorder to find the fault, so by the time we finish diagnosing the fault, we also finished the repair. Haha. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

I owned a Kia Rio 1.5 2004.. May I know when do I need to replace my timing belt? In the event I need to, can you guys do it? Good question. I would like to once and for all reveal the myth behind this timing belt issue. Most timing belt are due at 80k km. But why is it that Korean's timing belt are due at 60k km? In the beginning, the Korean's car also due at 80k km, but there were few incidents of bursting timing belt in the mid 90s that caused some concern over the timing duration. So, instruction was past down from Korean factory to inspect all timing belt at 60k km. We are suppose to look out for wear and tear signs; like cracking, edge burring, loose belts, etc. We will only replace the belt if there are signs of premature wear and tear. Honestly, it is very difficult to tell, thus most Mechs (to save their backside) will just change the belt. Or you owners will point your big fingers at them is they are to be Smart Alec. So, unconciously, the practice becomes 60k km. My practice is: to advice clients to change at 60k km (sorry, same mentality, don't want to be F for nothing). But however, I don't recommend to change the water pump at 60k km as it can usually last 120k km without problem. So we will only advice client to do a full change at 120k km and only a 'half' change at 60k km. But some of my client insist on change full set even after my assurance. May be they are more kiasu than me. So to solve this problem, I give warranty to this water pump until it is 120k km. That is to say, if the water pump leaks before 120k km, I will replace the water pump without charging the labour. Warning: You must be very careful and observe your engine temperature constantly. We don't warranty if engine got burnt! The best way is to use our workshop for regular service so that we can check the water pump at every occasion. ;D Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

Hi Joey, My picanto is the older version (yr 2005) does not come with aircon filter........as I had done some searching.... Do Harmony offer some advice on how to install one.....? Hi Andy, thanks for you question. Aircon filter is extremely important. For the few reasons: 1. It keeps the Aircon Cooling Coil (or Evaporator) clean. The main killer for this equipment is dirt sticking on it and provide a good anchoring for fungus and mould to build their home. These location will starts to corrode and leak. Replacing this equipment has to remove the whole Dashboard and thus the labour charge is very expensive. 2. Air is been recirculated within the Cabin via a fan opening at the front Passenger leg location. If you don't have any filter there, everyone in the car will be smelling his/her feet. I for sure won't want that. I called it Kaki Bacteria, haha. 3. Aircon Filter is NOT 'cleanable'. So you have to replace it at least once a year. Imagine it is 3 times more dirty then the filter of your room aircon! Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

Hi Joey, I got some probs with my steering wheel at hi-speeds.. I started to notice a hi-pitched "screeching" sound whenever I tilt(15°-25°) the steering wheel at hi speeds(>100km/h).. I have checked the Power Steering Fluid reservoir and the fluid is still at the Max mark when I thought it has dried up and I also "bleed" the steering gearbox to eliminate air in the hydraulic system.. Now, this happens AFTER frequent drag to redline.. And the sound occurs while cruising and when the steering wheel is tilted sideways.. Once the engine is cooled down, the sound does not occur anymore.. Ur advice please.. Thanks..
