Hi Joey,
I'm facing this problem on my 08 FL Picanto AT, current mileage approx 140k.
1. The engine seems to be giving out extra loud noise while driving. It is even louder when the air con is on. I'm afraid the engine might give way anytime. The sound produced seems like more than it should be.
Kindly advise, thanks!

Best is to come in to let us listen to the noises.

Hi Joey,
When i park my car, applied the handbrakes, and after releasing my brakes, the car will move slightly before the handbrakes catches the car. Is this normal?
Thanks.

Hi joey,
My car went into a pothole in malaysia. It was quite a hard hit.
Suspension seems fine.
But the engine light came on shortly after that. I checked with my OBDII and the error code is P2096.
How long does it take to diagnose the fault? Coz i can only come after 2pm on saturdays.
Thanks.

Water must have splashed onto the Alternator and grounding the wires for a short moment and caused the 'No charging' Light to be turned on. If it goes away, then it is ok.

I think the hit may have shifted your Exhaust Mid Pipe and cause some air leak. The 2nd O2 sensor picked up the extra Oxygen and thus giving you that code.

Hi boss I have a 2010 1.6 forte reaching 120k km being a 5 year old car what things do you think I need to do to to ensure longevity? currently getting almost 13Km per litre of fc which I'm very happy about hehe, but wear and tear is unavoidable. I'm thinking water pump, fan belt, decarbon, and change brake fluid, steering fluid, radiator coolant. Anything else I you think is recommendable?

Shows that you are quite a gentle driver. For maintenance, I would prefer to shorten (bring forward) the fluid/parts change mileage as the car ages. E.g. 40k km for ATF brings to 30k km. Besides scheduled maintenance, I would like to recommend that you do Decarbon for your Air, Fuel and Lubrication Tracks. These are areas that are not covered by conventional manual or practices. Thank you.

Hi, I have a 2009 March registered Picanto. Mileage is 93k so far. Recently had a full service, with change of engine oil, spark plugs, throttle body clean, air filter cleaning and welded a hole in the exhaust pipe.
However pickup is still sluggish (especially in low RPM around 1k to 2k) and fuel consumption is still higher than usual (getting 300km on a full tank instead of normally 430-450km. I have run out of ideas on what could be the problem. It is due for a belt change at 100k. Could that be related to the loss of power and increased fuel consumption?
Thank you Vince

Hi Joey, I'm currently driving a 2005dec manual picanto. Currently at around 108000km. Once when I'm driving above 60km/h there's this rattling sound coming from the front end of the car(which sounds like it's from the tyre/suspension) and the noise increase as the speed increases. I'm very sure it's not a engine sound. And when I'm traveling around only 5-20km/h with my windows down(in the MCP/customs) I will hear a squeaking sound which is directly proportional to my speed and this squeaking sound will go off when I travel above 25km/h. Pls advice.
Thank you, Gilbert.

I have a 06 Rio 1.6A. My steering wheel has excessive free play. What is the main cause of this problem?

hi Joey, my ride is an 8 year old cerato. Issue: car doesnt start, sometimes. no cranking, engine doesnt turn, just a 'tak' sound and thats it. couple more tries and suddenly it starts.
Usual suspects are battery and starter but i'm inclined to think these either work or dont. Intermittent failure could be another problem?
