Dear Sirs, Appreciate if you could quote me the price to change Cerato Forte Steering Comment Shaft. If possible, please quote me different options such as "Original brand new", "Re-Cond" & " Compatiable". thanks The name you gave is not right. Need to have the right name of the parts. Is it Steering Column? Rack and Pinion or other parts? Best is to call us and leave you Vehicle No. for a proper quotation. You can Whatsapp Jurong Elvis at 91198585 or AMK Joey 96369151 (but I am in Beijing and will be back only on Friday). Thanks Sorry for my typo error, it should be Steering Column. I will whatsapp you for the quote.

Hi Joey
Can you help to advise what is the normal range of RPM for Cerato Forte Ex 1.6 Manual traveling at 100Km/hr?
I realised my forte hit RPM 3300 when it reached 100km/hr at gear 5. Is this normal? Also if you could advise what is the FC consumption for this model as mine is travelling at 11.5km/L. I thought manual should be much higher than this right?
How can i improve my FC? Any recommendation?

Hi Joey,
About two months ago I changed one of the rear drum brake piston cause it was jammed open. Also had my handbrake adjusted lower so don't have to pull so far. This week just bleed my brakes. All done at Jurong branch
However now it feels like I have to press my brake pedal further just to feel the initial bite. Also my handbrake seems to be really weak on slopes especially with more people in the car. Really need to pull with all my strength. Worried that if my mum drive the car she cannot pull hard enough. Is this normal? Shouldn't the amount I have to press the break pedal be the same?
Thanks. P.S Not saying that the job was not good. In fact I think the attention to detail was really good and would like to praise your workers for explaining everything to me when I asked.

Hi Joey,
I'm driving a 05 Kia Cerato and recently I could feel my car vibrates when at hot idle. Is it something wrong with my engine already? Pls advise. Thanks.

Any recommendation? Usual RPM at 100km/h is about 3k. There's some +/- to it. FC is greatly depends on the driving style. I think 11.5 km/l is quite acceptable but if you want to improve it further, you have to change your driving style. Mainly follow this rule of no sudden acceleration or stopping.

hi Joey, is there a way to find out if the oil pump is functioning properly? thanks in advance. Engine Oil pump efficiency can be check by measuring the pressure from the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (removing it and fitting with this gauge). But I don't think it is a common practice here and most workshop will not have this gauge. Maybe you can let me know what is your purpose and I may be able to suggest other remedy.

Hi Joey,
Thanks for the advice. One more thing to ask, does Cerato have EGR valve?

You should have straight ask me what causes the rattling noise when at cold start. It's due to the Engine oil not getting and staying inthe Hydraulic Valve Lifters. Did you use 5W/30 Oil?

Hi joey,
My picanto driver door wont open either maually with key or remote control. I've been to 2 workshops and both say cant access the actuator without opening the driver door 1st, do you have a solution for this? All the other 3 doors can open manually with key.

Hi Joey,
I've just bought a 2nd ride Forte Koup and I'm thinking of bringing it to a workshop for a full checkup & maybe servicing too if needed. What package or service can you advise me on ?

means no way to fix this without damaging the inner door panel? It all depends on where is the jam. If it can be picked by locksmith, then there is no need to open up the door. If the jam is the internal mechanism of the inner door lock, than there is no other way but to break in. Therefore, you may want to consult a locksmith that is specialise in car lock.

Dear boss joey, can i seek your advice please? Will you know what is the reason why my car feels sluggish when driving on a hot day? I am currently on RISK & FDL. I also switched on my aircon but compared to switching on aircon at night, the nightime sluggishness is not so obvious. On a hot day, my car realy feels sluggish. Can advise me? Thanks.

Hi bro duotonedw, pls pardon me for interrupting. I'm also using the same setup as you for my pica, RISK + FDL. I could only think of 2 reasons which may be related to your enquiry.
1) Intake temperature - On a hot day, my intake temperature is between 40 to 45 degrees, while on a cool night, it could be 33 to 38 degrees. Hence, this is the usual 'hot air, less power' theory.
2) Load on aircon compressor - The aircon takes more load from the engine to lower the cabin temperature to the adjusted setting during a hot day as compared to a cool night. Hence, the engine experienced more loss of power to the air con. Switch off the aircon on a hot day and you find that the vehicle has more power.
Of course, these are just my guesses. Got to wait for Boss Joey to give his inputs..

I have the same experience as bro duotonedw though I'm on stock.. Interestingly the torque seemed worser on a hot and sunny day as compared to the evenings or night drive.. Is this common?

Is there any solution for it other den replacing the lifters? The cause of the Hydraulic Valve Lifter Nosie is due to 2 things: Engine Oil did not go in to lift up the Cap and/or the Cap is worn. Since you have flushed 2 x, I would say that the latter is more likely. The only solution is to change the Caps which is very costly process ($500 - $800).
