Hi Bro, your air con compressor load study is correct... air con compressors load is the same for cars of similar size (ok unless you bought some really fancy vehicle with individual passenger climate control) thus load to the engine is the same... so smaller cc engines should encounter even more power lost.. ok this is theory... hehe dont flame me when you actually do a practical comparison.. LOL
Ok now for your air intake, er.. hard to put it in words hehehe see when you drop by i explain to you in more detail...

i heard from my fren that the compressor takes away 200 - 300cc of a car's capacity when it cuts in. for a 660cc car wise, isn't it worst than a bike's engine? a mechanic once mentioned to me that jap cars' air con compressors has lighter load as compared to korean cars' compressors. one has to sacrifice power for comfort if the ride's cc is small.

Ya bro... balance lor... no choice... can you imagine those larger 3L-5L merc... with 4 zone climate control... faint lor... But as for 200-300cc i wouldnt know.. possible i suppose... no one as ever tested removing a 1.4L vehicle's compressor and see if its as powerful as a 1.6L with air con running hahaha...

(can be noticed when greater engine vibration is felt) off the a/c to feel the pica "flying" in "freedom".

Hehehe not really leh imagine you got a 3L car... expecting very nice torque of a 3L engine... but.... wife and kids prefer freezing cold 'climate' and you are ending up with a oversized overweight 2L car
HAHA just joking hor... no offence to anyone here with a big cc vehicle...
Friday liao!!! Hey recently no Kia or Pica Outings? Wondering if i can come along... hmm

Wondering if i can come along... hmm hahaha.. true also. that is a common scenario where car owners sacrificed power for comfort. sgkiaclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=clubmeetup&action=display&thread=17398but just too bad for me, Friday is family day
