Even if twin surbo, I doubt u can achieve 20hp that easily.. Even 5hp is hard to get..

Been reading up on this item over in MCF(MyCarForum).. Seems that in order for it to benefit, the installation must be properly done.. Free from leakages and has to be very air tight..

I really curious abt tis Surbo thingy..Zam swears by it...but others say doesn't work... yeah me too. given the many technical reports of "air compressing" gadgets that doesnt really work, i'm really skeptical as to hp gains (if any). If there really is much gain, why isnt it seen in motorsports? (obviously lack of entry doesnt mean it doesnt work, but it certainly casts more doubt to me) I dun mean to discredit or offend anyone, esp zam who offered the suggestion, and I would like to maybe, try it out one day for myself.

bro, i'm very sure...if still unsure, u guys can try my car...u be braking more than accelerating. I'm not trying to boast, but just with surbo, i managed to hit top max speed. Maybe u guys can try. U must know how to activate this surbo thing, if not u feel like no use...best used on a manual car... FYI, during my last trip to my grandma kampung in Negri sembilan... i tailed my cousin turbo charged caldina all the way from pagoh until bandar melaka...hehehe...i can proudly say that the power is really magnificient after 150km... if you dare to go to that mark...pick up still ok ok la as our car is heavy leh...but full load 4th gear i can still climb benjamin sheares bridge with only half acceleration.nevermind, if my performance bonus got extra this year, i go dyno my car...but still must wait for my cam gear, extractor, clutch and unichip first...lon chong do all...seow liao...hahahah

200hp maybe can but must change alot of thing leh... 1- bore your piston ( seoulful racing have the 1.8l piston) 10 -20 hp 2- camshaft change to stage 2 (10hp ) 3 - big throttle body( 2-3 hp ) 4 - bigger cc injectors (10-20 hp) 5 - high flow fuel pump ( 5 - 10 hp ) 6 - stage 2 clutch ( 5 - 10 hp ) 7 - gear ratios, final drive ( 5 - 10hp ) 8 - 421 extractors(pick up) 4-1 extractors ( top end ) ( 5 hp ) 9 - crank and cam pulley(lightweight) 2 - 5 hp 10 - exhaust (5 hp) 11 - Cold Air intake, free flow filter (colder air gives u more torque) ( 2 -5 hp ) 12 - surbo ( 5-10% hp more) 13- Lighthened flywheel 14- lighten your car 15 - Last, u need to tune ur modification ( full data log or unichip )5 % - 10% more hp AT least we can get about 60hp to 90hp more, plus our cerato at crank 106...at least 200hp oredi... but all depends if you have the bucks or not...no need to tc ur car...invite more unwanted attention by LTA or TP... what i recommend is through knowledge (books )and info from mixing aroung with people...just my 2 cent...if my cerato can get 150hp i happy liao. If only Cerato have legal headers and exhaust...everything else is legal and ( not visibly seen by naked eyes )...cheers !!! thanks bro... this is what i'm looking for.. a breakdown of items to be done.. but some of the items cant be found in Singapore?

I'm reaching my final stage soon, that is cam and tuning...hope to dyno my car if got extra cash...hopefully to churn about 30more hp. I get 150hp i very happy oredi. Enough for me. Our car very leceh, very hard to get parts...most i order for seoulful racing...

My ride is auto and im also using twin surbo. I dun tink it does give so much hp but its definitely more responsive and easier to speed up if u know how to activate it.

Our car very leceh, very hard to get parts...most i order for seoulful racing... bro zam, no need wait for extra cash or bonus to go for dyno lah, just spend 50rm across the causeway then you'll have the best report card that tells you the status of your ride now and how well the investment you have spend on mods have given back to you. i'm sure its a better report card then having a fully loaded ride going up a bridge with part throttle can tell. in fact, i hope we can organize a group dyno session either locally or at speedworks JB where we all can know how our rides are doing. its less then $25, even new rides should get a base HP as all engines are different(factory rated HP is not as accurate as you might think). that way, any future mods and subsequent dynos will tell you how much you have added. c'mon guys, why spend so much on modding when you don't even want to spend $25 to see how you car is doing? on a side note, as bro zam mentioned buying from seoulful racing, i would like to warn all bros here about buying from them as I made a purchase from kiaFX(http://kia-fx.netfirms.com/), which is their brother company, in January 21st, till now, my order is still listed as "processing". my total order is more then USD$600, no delivery, no news, nothing. I have written twice to them with no replies, either to provide any status update or acknowledge my mail, try to cancel my order, no news as well. I have lodged a complaint to paypal(i used paypal for payment) but it seems little can be done. now I am considering legal action and still getting information on my legal options.

now back to the original TS's question: how to built a 300bhp cerato v1? answer: you can't. BUT heres my advise for all bros who have the passion to get the most of their humble ride and love's the feel a spirited drive either on the way to work or getting that rush on the track, just follow these simple steps: 1) optimize combustion process: least possible intake resistance, least possible exhaust resistance(while maintaining good scavenging effect), try to get optimum A/F ratio and ignition timing. 2) minimize parasitic lost/drag(technically does not add HP to engine but lesser losses= more on the wheels): lightweight pulley(try to get full set: Crank, compressor, alternator, power steering), lighten flywheel, lightweight rims and overall reduction in weight of car(driver included). power losses through wind resistance and tires can be minimized(bodykit and over-inflation of tires), but its too insignificant and subjective to discuss here. 3) learn learn learn in this day and age of internet, there is not excuse for not having the knowledge to know what is needed for a engine to be optimised. its all here, if you would just take the time to find the right information and read. and do remember, you don't need monster HP to enjoy a good fun drive. you need: 1) very very big balls videos.streetfire.net/video/M5-vs-Audi-RS4-Cool-but_79520.htm2) total understanding of your vehicle(and some skills do help) www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE6CuvF3X1I3) very good concentration videos.streetfire.net/video/Pay-attention_207993.htmDisclaimer: I do not condone dangerous driving-please do not endanger lives of others

To me important is the responsiveness of the car that matters and u enjoy ur ride every single day...I'm enjoying my current mods though.

alright man!!!!! Instead of asking how to build a 300bhp Cerato V1, maybe a more practical approach is to question ourselves "HOW MUCH AM I WILLING AND PREPARE TO SPEND IN ORDER TO ARRIVE THERE?"
If let say, cost is NEVER an issue, to build 300bhp on a 1.6 V1 engine block is extremely challenging. 200bhp looks more promising. from my estimation, it will costs ard $20K (engine block alone + clutch + exos + suspension + brake, but exclude crank-shaft and gear ratio). If want to include gear ratio, I think another $5-6K. Time taken for such project 2-3 weeks if materials are all ready on hand.
FYI, the 1.8 piston as advertise from Souelfulracing cannot use in G4ED engine block. It's meant for 2L cerato in korea. The 3mm TC gasket oso cannot use - that's a very stupid way to achieve low-compression ratio.
The prize and recognition and satisfaction - you will be the 1st V1 monster in S'pore.
Just a rough estimation, 0-200km/hr in less than 25 seconds should be achievable. Should be able to hold all-the-way @ 210-220km/hr.
