dear all, be careful of "superman brand" or any "rabbits brand". better to use "trusted brand". at least we are ensure of its quality. Unless u know the source - eg. some OEM doing bottling for other brands and "by-pass" some to do their own branding. Or some didn't pass the QC, but still can use, so sell cheap lor to get rid of the stock. In conclusion - "let the buyer beware". In other words - at your own risk.

Bro, u didn't explain why open pod on AT (or maybe to a certain extent MT) affects low end? why such characteristics/behaviour happens?
BTW, 2nd question - does it affects the FC if u were to tune the ECU (or remap or piggy-back) just to compliment (or rather compensate) the airflow?

FYI, i'm a firm believer of CAI - but not in the sense that we have to cough out hundreds of $$$. In terms of $$$, it's just a fraction of what we need to pay just to get that "CAI feeling". But in terms of looks, it might looks dull and dim, but what the heck, the most importantly is that it works. anyway just my thought. u may wish to try it on your own.

but bro, u din factor in ur time n labour cost n warranty. So it all adds up eh! But in the spirit of DIY n knowledge, it's priceless!!! hey bro, let me put it this way. I don't do this for a living. Although the set-up might looks rather straight-foward and simple, fyi I've to go through quite a hassle as well. In fact I've this idea long time ago - as long as during the time when I collect my ride. Just that I was toying ard on a different set-up and decided to give a try on this. anyway it has not disappoint me (so far) just that it's a bit more noisy.

BTW, one word of caution.....such set-up is only meant as a cheap alternative option. In other words, high price doesn't always means it's good/better.

The "yellow" colour stuffs are not cables, but air hose to the oil catch tank. Basically I fix extra connector at the valve cover. Verdict - very noisy, as if there is a 2nd exhaust at the front due to the strong suction during high rev.
Next Stop - DIY water injection.

how? ok? not ok? if ok i volunteer, $20 i can afford the raw materials is less than $20. But the cost in making the bracket and machining the pipe and the time taken on the R&D costs me another $80. Bloody hell, 1 pce mah & the Ah Pai is not so willing to do 4 u. Took me 10 hours & 4 weekend burnt to figure out and make it to my satisfaction.

I'm now in BKK. Coming back on this Sat. Sori no time to take pictures. Anyway take already oso dunno how to upload. So I am getting a frieng for help.
OK here's the results - 2nd/3rd gear can reach 6,000rpm @ 90km/hr & 120km/hr respectively. 4th gear surprising can pass through the 140km/hr mark (but below 150km/hr). But here's d catch - generally set-up includes ngk6 plug/cable. can't beat the effect of TC during pulling, but generally good enough for better driveability.

Yeh, no big deal I know, but just wanna check, at 85000KM what should I be looking out for or what are some of the parts which I definitely must change liao? Timing belt change liao, fluids also just change no long ago, tires also, brake pads ok... Hmm... PS - Don't ask me change car, no $$$ alright man, uncle. Mine is heading towards 200,000km liao (i got another 5,000km to go, hehehe....). Not sure whether can reach the finishing line or not? another 4 more years to go.

thermostate fail can either be in open or close state. Car start up after long rest, thermostat is in close state for engine to get to its optimal operating temp range, so imagine if it doesn't open after that ..over heating in the cylinder head and block. It is actually ok to do without a thermostat in our kind of climate, just warm up the car longer before driving. It is actually NOT ok to do without a thermostat in our kind of climate.

ok after i gotten my clutch plate replaced .. my clutch is very smooth .. but the thing is.. my gear level is still difficult to engage.. this happens especially when i'm trying to engage between 2-3-4 or 4-3-2. gear 1 and 5 and reverse gear is okay.. is this normal? when u talk abt plate, i supposed u r referring to the "pressure plate" or some ppl call it the clutch hsg. I oso assume that you have changed the disc and the bearing as well. Err...gear oil, u said changed orendi. then the last resort is your cable. but be careful, 2 chge d cable u nd to take down the whole dash-board (just like changing air-con evaporator coil). Cable price is less than SGD100 but labour cost abt $250/$300 and duration is about 4-5 hours.

Oh man...!!! seems like great men thinks alike. LOL.... I agreed whole-heartedly - the techno orange is not only a head-turner, but a heart melter as well.
aiyah 4get abt the Forester TC lah. Not that great lah trust me. If I were to put in a snail inside the Sportage power-plant, we are oso on par. Risk is higher, but expenditure is much much lower.
Now, $$$ standing @ 125K+. $116K+++ might be slim chance, but who can tell. the COE is so unpredictable. Maybe the next bid is yours. anyway best of luck...

Cerato V1 is only a DOHC, but V2 onwards up to Forte/Koup is CVVT. sorry, not sure about RIO. BTW, you can call-up C&C to enquire on such information.
difference in terms of what? (btw V1 pioneer batch and later batch). What's "later batch", BTW? Not very sure what information you want, but basically on a nutshell ...... (a) V1 engine block is cast iron; whereas V2 onwards is "cast aluminium Alloy". But the former is more durable than the latter. (b) V1 exos is in the front and airlet is rear; whereas V2 onwards is exactly the reverse. (c) V1 run on timing belt; whereas the others in timing chain. (d) factory tuning of V1 is slightly lower than others.

Yo bro, tks for the comments. I went 2 c the new-2011 model, orange-colour type and it was literally love-at-first-sight. But $$$ is too high now, so LL and have to wait for the COE to come down. hehehehe......not sure when will it ever come down. Otherwise have to settle for 2nd-hand car then, but the orange-colour is a MUST-HAVE.
