Hi, would like to find out fm fellow mag owners....
I sent my 07 mag in to C&C tis morn cos the enginer chek indicator lighted up. My car was serviced at Comfort Delgro for 30k n my mileage now is 36k. C&C told me that warranty might be voided due to tis 3rd party svc hence asked me to svc my car for either the 30k or 40k at the same time. No choice, I opted for the 40k svc.
Would like to know if my warranty will really be voided if we svc our car outside, even if it was done by reputable svc ctr?

I dont think its worth taking the risk of servicing a new car outside. You'll just save some money but the agent can give you a better peace of mind. In the long run you'll save more and you know that you wont have problems with c&c voiding your warranty in the event of a major breakdown. I went for c&c for past 3 years and the last one just a couple of days ago before warranty runs out next month. They have been wonderful in providing the support. The checks were thorough. Parts replaced immediately at no cost. They honour their warranty, i must say, even though some forumers here grumble with their experience at c&c. I'm not sure if you do outside how much of checks they do and what happens if they really find a fault what are they going to do? Give you free parts? You still have to go back c&c.

yup...agree too...is jus tat c&c normal servicing is very ex compared to outside....moreover, i sent to ComfortDelgro, not any other car workshop outside....sigh.... anyway, aft tis experience, i wil send in to c&c for my svc fm now on. yup, their service is very good and previously they replaced the whole power steering shaft & assy immediately aft i told them tat sound came fm e steering wheel when i made turns. They are very efficient.....but at a price too lah...so sad.....

I think blastwave got the point. Nobody can diagnose our car better than C&C. Maybe can let them service when you encounter some strange problem and saying you can't take leave for other times (pay them service at least once a year). My expereince is they are usually quite understanding.
But another stopper in our warranty is mod. Make sure you de-mod before sending to them if the fault could remotely be related.

no mod lah....lady driver, oso dunno wat to mod...too fast n too furious oso cant handle btw, my colleague who was driving a rio previously told me tat he alternated his svc during warranty period, one at C&C and one outside......think can follow tis pattern too rite

aiyah...jus speaking abt it....my mag got the same "engine chek indicator lighted" prob again tis wk.... after e last incident, c&c told me tat they checked my car n everything is ok but now, tis prob comes again.... i went bk to c&c n aft diagnostic, told me a part need to be replaced but they got no stk, has to indent fm korea n takes abt 1 mth.... jus wondering wat hv they checked n done during my 1st visit, e same prob surfaced just barely 2 wks later.... to date, tis would be e 2nd parts tat needed to be replaced for my 1yr 6mths old car liao....cant imagine the $$ i may spend aft warranty..

This check engine light turning on thingy seems to be affecting some drivers of the old mag too (go to kia-forums.com). Thank god i've not had that 1 before and to my knowledge having used this forum for the past 3 years and benefitted greatly from it, i have not come across other mag users encountering this check engine light problem. Perhaps its quite a rare problem here esp with the new mag that they dont anticipate and thus accounts for having to indent parts from motherland korea. Just my 2 cents words. But i do emphathise with your plight and i can understand fully the frustration. I once had this problem of irritating sound coming out from the front right wheel which i first went to Leng Kee and then they said nothing wrong after spending the whole day there, but then i brought my car to pandan cres and they immediately replaced the brake disc, effectively solving the problem. So, lady, i can really understand what you are going thru. Do share with us if they told u what was the culprit behind the check engine light problem with your mag. Cheers!!

ok, wil keep u posted once they hv replaced the part....
actually, when i sent in for the engine light prob, besides telling me tat they hv to replace the part, they oso asked me to replace my batt, saying tat it was weak....aft replacing the batt, the engine light is gone despite not replacing the part yet....so i really dun noe now if it is really the part faulty or wat....jus got to wait for the part n see how lor.....

It could be with your O2 Sensor. When i had my Catalyzer de-catted, the engine check light would come out. Get C&C to check if your O2 Sensor is spoilt.

Hi, Anyone knows how much it cost for a 50k km servicing at C&C? Just took over a 06 Magentis with 43000km on the clock. I feel that the throttle paddle isn't smooth, kind of jerky. Same thing for the brakes, it isn't gradual, it is like having brakes or no brakes. Very sudden application of brakes. Will C&C be able to service the brakes FOC? Will this be considered a warranty claimable issue? Thanks, Hi, would like to find out fm fellow mag owners.... I sent my 07 mag in to C&C tis morn cos the enginer chek indicator lighted up. Hi gkoh,
Thanks for the information.
I have applied WD-40 at the throttle torsion spring linkage and the throttle feel is now much better.
One thing I have to ask about the rear view mirror. It is supposed to be auto-dimming right? There is power button at the centre of the rear view mirror. What is it supposed to do? From the user manual, the auot-dimming function should be default on whenever we turn on the ignition. For my magentis, the power button is alway not lit up, no matter how I press on the this power button.
Furthermore, I cannot tell if the auto-dimming functions works or not, even if I drive at night. Could it be faulty? Is there supposed to be an LED light on underneath the power button?
Thank you

My magentis was last serviced at 40000km on late Jan 09 this year. It now has 42600km on the clocks.
Went to check on the engine bay on Sunday, the coolant reservoir was empty.
My question is, why did the mechanic at C&C top up the coolant in the reservoir during the last service less than 2 months back?
I have to top it up using my leftover coolant from servicing of my bike.

Hi gkoh,
Does the 50k km servicing include changing coolant and brake fluid?
Thanks,

There is a list of checks etc under the service menu. 40k should be major servicing hence they should have replaced the coolant n the transmission fluid then.

Thank you yup, the rear-view mirror auto powers on when u start the engine. the power button is for u to switch it on n off but by default, it should be on everytime the engine starts. tink u shld send bk to c&c to get it chek. if it is working at nite, images on your rear-view mirror should appear "greenish" (in my own language), lights fm the cars behind shld be dimmed, nt glaring...however, there shld be no difference fm others in day time. btw, i am nt using the rear-view mirror, partly bcos of the "greenish" effect.....

Hi gkoh,
Was coolant replacement standard procedure at 40k km servicing?
As for the rear view mirror, does it mean that the power button will be lit at all times after ignition unless you turn it off?
Thanks

experience the magentis before *wink, the light on the rear view mirror is suppose power button should be litted at all times unless you manually off it. go back CNC and ask them to do for you, guess is connection problem since you cant on it no matter wat when it is set as auto on in the first place. Do go throught the servicing website as per mentioned since you had just done 40K servicing... Isnt it too early to be thinking of 50K? 40K stated coolant will be done, including ATF and such... Brake fluid not done, 50K than do the brake fluid.. please refer to website for more info, click on car prices & services and select periodic maintenance. That is wat all the test will be done for different mileage. If still cant or not sure, maybe you want to call up and ask instead. give yourself a piece of mind. 6746 2000 CNC Ubi. enjoy the ride first, still 8K more to 50K.. no worries... i kaypoh here since its going to be my next ride?
