Hi Guys, need to change my tires 205/16/50. Went down to Serangoon North Ave 5 (new building) which has a number of tyre shops. Was quoted $105 for Neuton, Nexen, Kumho & Federal. Which one would you guys recommend? Safety is my top priority especially when its wet. Thank you.

Depend on ur budget. If less than $100, take Dunlop. ( May be a bit noisy) If higher to $150, take Michelle or Bridgestone. Check out Aik Hock, look for Alan. Make sure he qoute u Tyres tat from Japan.

So sor, I was quoted on 195/65/R15. Shd be quite similar. Anyway, tat area shd be competitive on pricing. I using Dunlop, same size as ur. Only complain, noisy. Pervious Yokohama, more quite but more pricy.

Get the Kumho and make sure "MADE IN KOREA" is etched on the sidewall. There's a Vietnam made circulating in the market. Unsure about the difference, but that's just me.

I enquired in paya ubi, same price of S$105. Model given was KU31. The one in serangoon north not sure of the model as it was not ex-stock. How this tyre? Bagus? Called Hankook ME-01 S$129 after discount. Autobacs Michelin S$250!! crazy! Firenza (cheapest available) S$150. Pirelli is ok S$139 but made in china. But of course if KU31 is good I will settle for the least expensive. Economy forecast seems bearish

I'm on Michelin XM-1 for 1.5 years already, so far so good. The current model is XM-2, heard it's better.

Chiu? Anyway, Nexen is much cheaper than the KU31s but it's biased towards comfort which is not what I'm looking for.

Reviving an old tread. Now this club seemed so dead.
I've got my tyres changed after taking over the ride for almost 2 odd years. The car was on Yoko DB installed by C&C. The tyres was almost gone as the wheel will spin at MSCP, Humps, Junction's painted markers. Got my tyres changed. Original size is 205/50/16. Was quoted for Kumho KU31 205/50/16 at $115.00 (all cost included) and $105.00 for 205/45/16. Without hesitation with budget in mind, I went for 205/45/16.
I would like to enquire from the brothers who used Kumho KU31, on average, what's the mileage for the tyres or what's the lifespan of it? My last set of Yoko DB travelled for 60,000km.
Your advise is much appreciated.

Ooh. About 1/2 the lifespan of my Yoko DB.
Taking my maths right, Yoko Advan DB is about 200++ per donut with an expectant lifespan of 60,000km, where Kumho is 1/2 the price with 1/2 the lifespan hence making up to the same price.
Anyway it's my 1st experience on Kumho, we shall see how it goes but I can feel the softness of the new rubber my car is on compared to harder Yoko DB.
