I think it's subjective, 30k is actually an estimate. Anyway tyres don't always last till their expected lifespan ends due to other factors (most common is punctures)

Softer mean wear rate faster.... anyway for UHP wear rate is high....

Thanks alot for the advises.
Having to own my 1st car with the 1st tyre change knows noob about tyres, your input is valuable and knowledge sharing.
Anyway it is still worth the constant changes with ending up with the maths calculation to be the same, nothing to cry about or shout about at least you get the "quiet new shoes" more frequently.

actually ku31 is good buy for that price....
good in wet and dry.... cornering better than the db...
just do a rotation periodically will ensure a even wear....
and also monitor the tyre pressure....
tyres cannot use for too long... outlook may look ok but DOM too long, the old tyre harden and cannot perform well....

I guessed that was what happened. I was still using a DOM 2007 Yoko DB until last week.
The ride a little harder and when cornering, there tend to be more roll. Maybe like what you had explained, old tyre harden and cannot perform.

Personally I prefer to play safe with tyres.... I rather spend a bit more and change earlier, cos you never know when you make need to execute an e-brake in bad weather...

I also noticed that the tyres are quite sticky. Is it one of the advantages of KU31? Cause previously i can free wheel my car with a distance (safely, of course.) However with KU31, it slows down quite quickly when I free wheel it.

Get the Kumho Ku31. I used it for about 3000km. Very quiet and very good at wet floor as my last tyres was Yoko DB.
Kumho Ku31 is really "Pi" (Cheap in hokkien) & "chee" (fresh in hokkien). Give it a try. U will get addicted. LOL!

KU31 is a UHP, performance no need to explain. So far I have used for more than 40K, only activated my ABS once on wet during ebrake... Feel very confident on both wet n dry...
However, there are no best of both worlds. U have the performance, u hae to sacrifice the comfort. KU31 gets noisy after 10K, real noisy. Road feedback is so much u can feel whatever ur donuts are going over. Especially if the rubber gets harden, it's even more obvious. Well the grip is still there now I'm over 40K... NO regrets.. Think I will try comfort tyres next round...
