It's a large black box that situated near the front left wheel arc..It's actually part of the air intake system...between the snorkel and the air filter box..Tink it's purpose is to reduce air intake sound....but the air intake route is a bit long winded..Most of us remove it and replace with a more direct CAI hose.. Here's how it looks like..

Anyone knows if I can install the diffuser at the front on the stock V2(w/o BK)? Which diffuser?...The two piece type or V-lip?..Tink both oso can fit on w/o BK..but better if got some kind of lip with flat bottom..then the diffuser wld sit flat nicely.. Thanks bro... its something like the one you had... with the hook one... can mount directly to the stock V2?

Hi guys. Glad to meet some of the faces behind the nicks. And to some that i din intro myself sorry .. see you all like super busy and concentrating on your task at hand. One question though or maybe two hehe... The drop-in and the open pod filters are for filtering the dirt away that comes thru together with the air right? And for the drop-in you can choose from the stock type and the after market type filters. So what are the difference or benefits between these two types? And the difference or benefits between the drop-in and open pod filters? Thanks!

And for the drop-in you can choose from the stock type and the after market type filters. So what are the difference or benefits between these two types? And the difference or benefits between the drop-in and open pod filters? Thanks! Drop in filters refers to the filter similar to the original paper type that slots into the stock filter box..stock drop-in is made of paper, aftermarket can be stainless steel mesh (Hurricane) or cotton reinforced with wire mesh (K&N)... ..Open pod refers to the cone/ mushroom type filters (Apexi, HKS) can be s/s or cotton also...it totally replaces the stock setup..meaning stock filter box need to be removed..the other type is closed pod (Simota)..also remove stock box..the cone filter is within a cylindrical casing.... The idea of changing to aftermarket, be it drop-in or open pod is too allow more air to flow into the engine..more air (oxygen) better performance..but filtration muz still be good also.. For AT, most say stick to drop-in (Bonzz may hav sumthing to say abt tis ;D)...MT can use open pod with heat shield..
