Hi all, I have an 05 Optima that I am trying to tinker with. Trying to find after market parts is next to impossible!!! Does anyone here know where I can find a Cold air intake for my car?? BTW, it is a 2.7 V6. Thanks in advance!!!! Rick

just get a tiburon/tuscani gt v6 cold air intake...the most moding you will have to do is re locate your battery to the trunk

illegal mod more power ......but CAI can help lei.., thougt if you wan to do exhaust. air intake also must do can can co-ordinate well..??

But if you install a CAI, you are more vulnerable to engine blow. Reason is that rainwater can seep in more easily through the intake pipe into the engine.

I don't think so your engine will blow if water seeps in. The CAI will not scope water & depend where the opening is. Been using CAI for so many month & i don't see any water seeps in.

Depends on setup of CAI...not all are prone to sucking in water..the most common cases are those using Simota closed pod type..coz everything is sealed up tightly..water get suck from below, no outlet to go but to the filter..and into engine..but danger only when gg over flood waters..if normal splash shd be Ok..my car is with open pod, heatshield box plus CAI for more than 3yrs..even go thru flooded areas in JB..no problem..coz the suction is not so great due to the open spaces.. ..And I have to disagree tat CAI is useless..It shd be quite beneficial..even most performance car/ race car uses it....the idea is simple, juz to have a ram air effect to supply cooler air into the filter..coz cooler air hav more oxygen=better combustion..
