My rear left hand side of the power window broke last week.
Open up the door assembly and found the part number 83470-1D010. Unfortunately, there is no such part available, anywhere ....
Found the KIA Rondo part number 83401-1D010 and ordered from
www.fourgreen.com/ for USD144 including shipping.
If you buy from
www.korpas.com it is cheaper at USD105 including shipping.
Four Green are better at checking if you have ordered the correct part and very good customer service. They shipped from Korea or USA by EMS and Fedex.
I ordered on Wednesday, they ship out on Friday and I received on Saturday morning. I install it the same afternoon.
I installed the part myself. It take about 2~3 hours. You will need the following :
a) Standard tools - screw driver, hammer etc.
b) 10MM spanner
c) Rivets and Riveting tool
d) Chisel - 15MM wide.
e) Electric Drill and drill bit.
The reason for the rivet is that you need to transfer the speaker holder from the old assembly to this need assembly. unlike other power window assembly, the KIA Carens/Rondo power window regulator come as a complete assembly with a big face plate.
The chrisel, there are 6 rivet point on the plate. 4 to mount the speaker holder. The other 2 are on the left top side. You need a chisel to hack off the rivet so that the plate can be removed.
Procedure :
a) Remove the speaker.
b) Remove the power window servo-motor.
c) On the centre-bottom of the plate, there is a dust cover, you need to lower the window glass edge. So that you can see the catch. Use a straight screw driver to push out the catch.
d) Push up the window glass with hand through the speaker void hole. Use a tape to stop the window glass from falling back. Without the catch the glass will free fall - crushing it.
e) Use the chisel to hack off the 2 rivets.
f) Remove the cabling.
g) Remove the whole assembly
h) Transfer the speaker holder to the new assembly - you can do it at your home kitchen ..... heeee...
j) Do reverse to assemble the unit.
There is actually no need to install the 2 rivets, I did not ...... you would have realized it is very difficult to do.
