Hi, I bought a used stock silver recently and I would like to know how to check the fuel consumption. I did try to used the litre pump in the petrol kiosk to divide with my picanto km record. I alway get 7.2 km/litre. Is there any thing wrong with my FC?
Normal is travel between point A to B with one infant and my wife only.

You should be getting around 11+\- for your AT pica.

Did they check on other systems such as oxygen sensors etc? Or just fuel system only?
I suggest that you head down to a reputable workshop to check. You could do some checks yourself such as tyre pressure, air filter etc. But I think it may be other reasons as well.

mine is 2009 auto and my FC is ard 10 to 12 km per litre ... 7.2 km/litre quite jialat, how do u calculate? what is your driving style? heavy footed? using 15" rims and 195 tyres? after some time, i dun calculate using the amount of petrol pump vs mileage travelled - this is how i measure mine FC: full tank (pump to brim) to 3/4 tank - 150 to 180 km 3/4 tank to half tank - 80 to 100 km half tank to 1/4 tank - 80 to 100 km 1/4 tank to empty - 60 to 80 km worst case can do 370 km on a full tank - picanto tank capacity is 35 litres i usually pump when left 1/4 tank, i dun drive till the empty tank indicator light up ... not good for the fuel pump as it might fail prematurely (that's just my opinion and personal preference anyway) as picanyeo mentioned about oxygen sensors, intake sensors, tyre pressure, air filter, etc ... worn out spark plugs, spark plug cables might affect FC, too ... check your fuel tank got leak or not ... since C&C say nothing wrong with the car, can they explain why the FC so jialat?

My auto Pica 2005's about 13.5km/l on average. Aircon on 100% of the time now. Highest was 16 but now that's hard to hit coz I'm on 15" rims. Lowest was 10.1 when driven like WRX wannabe. lol

Hey everyone, I just send my Picanto to Ah Kang workshop to check and done the following service: 1. Cleaning of throttle body 2. Change all spark plug to Denso iridium 3. Change of fuel filter 4. Input fuel cleaner
Damage about $220 include GST. Now I feel that my pica on road is quite smooth. I'm monitoring the fuel result. Will up date u all once I got it on my next pump.

Being light-footed. Can squeeze out +1km/ltr. But got to accelerate gradually and slowly. Rpm do not exceed 2.5rpm, most of the time at 2.3rpm average.
I tried it once (Full tank), but not suitable for me.

If you never ever turn on the air-con can save quite alot of petrol.

As long FC is between 11KM/L - 14KM/L is normal.
Sometime others have better FC is because likely travel on expressway most of the time, did not turn on air-con, new spark plug, new tyres, less traffic, engine oil viscosity grades, the year of the veh, etc.
For TS which previously is less than 10KM/L is an issue but more than that is common.

Clap clap clap!
My previous 2009 auto pica can hit 13-14kml avg. Light foot is the surest way to go. Btw I was on 15/45/195. Other things I did was go for regular servicing and flush my engine every visit. Keep the engine clean and maximize the performance and efficiency.
The fuel savings definitely outweigh the cost in long run.
