This is the first time I failed a Vehicle Inspection. Under Side Slip/Wheel Alignment 7.1 mm/m - To pass 5mm/m. If I drive straight for 1km, my car will drift 7.1m to the right. When to JB for wheel alignment again, the front offset by 0.26 degree but the rear is up to 2 degree. A few days before, I drove with my parking brake not fully release - Maybe is the cause. Also, for the last few month, the FC is not as good as achieved before between 8.8 ~ 9.2km/L ....... Actually, since Apr alignment. After wheel alignment, the steering become very light. I got 9.8km/L - 296.6km pump 30.25L - Fill to the brim. Attachments:

If you do not mind, which workshop did the April alignment, and which one doing it recently which makes your steering very light ? And are both workshops in JB ?

I have been going to this Kim Tyres at Jalan Keris, JB. sgkiaclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Carensgeneral&action=display&thread=20827Anyway, there are many shops in JB offering wheel alignment near the CIQ. Thanks, that's cool ~ Since there are many shops offering wheel alignment, then let's stick to what you have experienced from Kim, because even if they are not the top, but at least...one of the best.... Ya ...... from the internet, it is said the new test has been implemented for more than 1 year. It is an alternate way to test wheel alignment. Called Side Slip, it is a check on how good your car can drive in a straight line. If not, there is a protential issue with your wheel alignment. To pass the test, the side slip should not be more than +/- 5mm/m or +/- 5m/km. I pass the retest with side slip at +2m/km. Glad about this passing on retest, Kim Tyres is really good in this aspect to put your Carens back to its superior performance standard 2m swayed for every km travelled, this is a nice way to advertize. And by the way, theoretically, even if a car travels straight line, it may not be the case of good toe for alignment, because when both left side and right side wheels toe in, car can also travel straight line. And your real driving feels confirm that this situation does not happen because of very light throttle and you achived 9.8km/L for Singapore city traffic driving which is good ! And how much $$ is the Vehicle Inspection ? How many minutes did it take to wait in queue normally? And how many minutes did it take the inspector to conduct the test ?

We go to vehicle inspection because it is mandatory lor .... The test cost about S$62 and retest is S$31.03. It is done in about 15mins. While it do an overall test on the car, I do not recommend it because : a) They do not endorse the results for any other purposes other than State requirement. b) They tends to bypass a many test - CO2, Headlight etc. Because the State did not put it as a must test. c) PASS/FAIL Only - They only show PASS/FAIL. You need to ask for it. And if they are happy with you, you get the results. d) Inheritance Poor Service because it is mandatory to pass the test inorder to get your road tax renewed. When I bought this second hand car, I insist the owner go for a full vehicle inspection of another kind. At my cost. Beside the usual vehicle inspection, it also cover emission in detail, illegal modification, exhaust. headlight, window tint and most importantly, it check if the car chassis dimension is intact - bend and twist. Also, Test drive for ACCEL, Cornering, Braking, AT, Engine ID & Chassic ID check, Paint work, Repair or Modification due to Accident. It cost me about S$198 ?? Forgot, but wrote it somewhere in this forum. They rated my car as A, which is the precondition in the contract to buy the car lor.
