I tell you, yesterday was probably the most suay day ever.....
Firstly, workday is bad. Then on the way home, my phone hanged/bricked only left me with a LG logo.
As if that was not bad enough, when I want to park at my FIL place, the front brake hose broke. Imagine, I just come out of the expressway lor.
If it broke during my drive in the expressway then I probably in "That's It".....
The previous owner of my ride changed the stock hose to the so-called racing hose. My mechanic ever warn me about it..... to use stock hose as a failure will be big time.
Anyway, I bought a set of stock hose from Fong Tat for $35 ea.
Front Left Hose 58731-1D000 Front Right Hose 58732-1D000
Buy 1 38, buy 2 35.
I even bought oil filter 26300-35503 for $4ea.
Take about 1 1/2 hour for me to install both..
Try to use the stock hose if possible because most racing hose do not have a proper fit guide bracket. The hose have the tendency to move as you steer. Move move and it will give way at the joint lor. As in my case, it is secure with tier........sigh.....

Was quite desperate lor, one insist to tow my car, 500m want to tow, another 1 say come back tomorrow, another 1 say have but non-stock, racing type, very good, How much ?? Dont know. So, in the middle of the night just drive the car back home and go Fong Yat and buy lor. Since buy parts already and the car cannot go to crowded place. Might as well DIY lor. What to do ? Quite simple laaa ....... remove, install, remove air bubble and test, done. If you are think of changing it and not desperate, try KORPAS only USD12.7 before shipping....... wow, u r really a hands-on person! Everything diy...

The rear brake hose I bought from KORAPS just arrived last week. After 1 month, longer than the usual 2 weeks. They said the address label was torn. So they shipped again. The left hose uses black paint coated joint and right hose is chrome joint. Seems like a standard to identify left, right.... Cant wait for Sunday to change in ........ heeeee Attachments:

Some update on this matter.
After I replaced my front brake hose in end-July, the ABS indicator light up about 1 month later. I thought it is the sensor problem again but the ABS indicator light up differently.
Unlike the sensor issue, which will light up and off in one single drive trip and cause the ABS to kick in during braking.
This time round, it either off or on for the whole single trip.
I checked the internet, it said, if the brake fluid run dry in the system, ABS will tend to lightup because of air bubble trapped in the ABS module. Even with proper bleeding, the air bubble will still be trapped in the module.
The ABS module do a few type of test, one of the test will be to seal the module and do pressure test. With air bubble, the pressure test will fail.
The only way is to use a OBD reader like HiScan that can exercise the module so to let the bubble out.
Without buying an expensive OBD reader or go C&C. I found a way.
The ABS Module will do self test when you started your engine. Either when you speed reach 12km/h or when stationary for more then 2 minutes.
Based on info available and if I interpreted it correctly, some bubble will escape the module when it do self test.
If you bleed you brake system 2 times, 2 driving week apart or more.
This is what I did,
First Time Early Sept - 4 wheels. After this, once in a while it goes off
Second Oct 7 - 2 rear wheel. Will only light up during cold start. After warm up, stop engine and start again will clear ABS. Always.
Third Oct 20th - 2 Front wheel. Solved ...... at least it never light up again since then ........ heeee
For Carens 2006 onward. It is a 4 channel ABS system. When bleeding the brake. Start with in order:
a) Right Rear Wheel (Farthest from ABS Module) b) Left Front Wheel c) Left Rear Wheel d) Right Front Wheel
It is done in this way as every pair of channel are linked diagonally side of the wheel.
OR
During my first change on the front brake hose, I used a 1997 made brake fluid and with a tiny crack on the bottle. By right I should not use it as brake fluid tend to absorb water vapour. When water content reach 6% per volume. Air bubble form when braking.
So here are some info about Carens 2006
Total Volume of Brake Fluid Required : 800mL Total Volume of Brake Fluid used in the above exercise : 1000mL of DOT4.
