i think i might have found where my problem lies... seems like either one of my spark wire is damaged, or my ignition coil is faulty... coz once in a while my car will misfire on idle..
let's replace them and see how.

Let us know. My petrol light came up and went to pump Esso8000 instead of Caltex last tank travelled 333km and i pump in 37L this morning. So its a record for Ron98 9L/km i think i might have found where my problem lies... seems like either one of my spark wire is damaged, or my ignition coil is faulty... coz once in a while my car will misfire on idle.. let's replace them and see how.

my car will misfire a little on cold start. I found the OBD2 port so I did a scan using my phone and found out that i have a check code of P0171 - Bank 1 system too lean.
Lucky, my new fuel pump has arrived from korea. I'm going to install it during this weekend and see if the code still throw up. If still got same error, I will replace the injectors.

Misfire don't need to see. you can hear it, very obvious. sounds like the car is choking and dying.

yup, all u need is a obd2 reader, and download the torque app and communicate directly with your car using bluetooth.
nowadays technology very advanced, don't need those huge and bulky machines that workshops are using

fuel pump fr korea?? ming ghee or song yi can buy also ma... save how much? more than 50% discount bro... don't forget everything is made in korea, if u buy there definitely is cheaper by alot. but not everything. sensors are all that cheaper to buy in the actual country of manufacture, since all the sensors not made by kia.

update: just changed my fuel pump and strainer, took me 1hr 30mins, lucky got shade. so far no more error codes and check light. car feels smoother. let's see how much that translate to FC.

after fuel pump change, FC improved slightly, from average of 8.8km/L, now averaging 9.2km/L. but check light still comes up once in a while, time to change the O2 sensors. bought new O2 sensors and replaced them myself this afternoon at my parking lot, lucky no rain. Also reset ECU. let's see after 2 weeks how's the FC

One simple fix for fuel issues in any car is checking your tires and making sure the pressure is right. It makes a huge difference at least 1 mile or 2 miles per gallon for a car. Another non mechanical thing to check is windows and doors and make sure they close properly, because aerodynamics can also effect fuel efficiency. They are all simple checks and fixes.
