not really siao or not, but you see if majority are getting 12-13km/L, doesn't it sound fishy for a few to get less than 10km/L ? when i bought this car, i was thinking that if i am heavy footer, i should even get 10km/L but now it is only 9km/L Something must be wrong somewhere. Yes, can pump any type.... except diesel section...haha... you all to siao about FC liao la.... drive safe without any worries...the more you try to save, end up also not correct rpm also FC suffer....so many damn factors also....

Guys, u all try to maintain below 3k rpm. It might helps, i think the valve open at 3k. And dont put too much load onto ur car also.
A lot of factors might affect the FC afterall .....

Hi bros,
any owner or ex-owner of the 1st gen rio? I bought a 2005 Rio 1.5A LS (the wagon version) recently, very shocked that my FC is around 9.0km/L on Mobil F1/Vpower 97.
My previous cars all had better FC even thou higher CC (dc5r 10.3km/L, 230jm 9.1km/L, 523i 9.2km/L)
To date I have had 4 full tanks, all very similar with the lowest being 8.7km/L when I just took over the car. I have already done the following:
- change new spark plugs ik20 - change engine oil - change oil filter - clean air filter and re-oil k&n - reset ecu - adjusted my driving habits. now if I don't drive for long distance, i just take bus. if even i drive, i don't accel over 2.5k rpm. i'm quite immune to all the horning already.
next steps to take: - change gearbox oil - change fuel pump - install CAI hose and insulate airbox for better combustion - clean / replace MAF sensor - replace both o2 sensors
Already checked for leaking petrol (park at a clean carpark and drive off to see if any petrol marks), check for correct plug cable configuration. The only thing Im worried is that it might be engine internals giving way soon.
When I replaced my spark plugs, I realised one plug has traces of dried engine oil. This might be due to worn valve seals. any bros here encounter the same problem too?

i pattern chut ka liao liao... now just enjoy the ride. Feeling rich, go RON98, else ROn95 seems to give the best consumption readings. 1.4M can easily reach 11 - 12km per L... its a matter how u drive n wat things u do to ur ride...

Driving an 07 Rio HB, manual. Using ESSO RON 95, FC is 12km/l even though it's mostly city driving 80% city 20% expressway.

i say again... check your spark plugs & see if they are 1.1mm spec..if not, get someone to do it... u will see fc increase in ur next tank.
clean ur throttle body... also at 05 version..u probably need to do some cleaning ur engine internally...slug will built up if previous owner do not take care of it.
i am try 5000km EO change now to clean engine... instead of 10k change.

i just flushed and change - Gear oil - Clutch oil - Coolant - brake oil
Change - Engine oil to Mobile Gold - Change oil filter - change fuel filter. - Put in Denso Iridium. - Change KYB Absorber x 4 - Clean throttle body
Tunned to QFR
All these done over 2 weeks.
So far, this current tank of spc98 is going to reach historical high FC for my ron98 records, LOL. estimated at the moment 9.2km/L
Next tank gonna be Caltex 98. but no discount credit card heart pain lei...
