Yesterday went to T.R.C to install Volt, Vacuum and Water Temp Gauge. Almost took 6 hours to complete the installation. After completing, happily drive back to SG. All out of the sudden when i reach TPE towards SK, mine water temp hit 130. I could hear the fan kicked in real hard and engine sounded like Crown taxi, i managed to reach home slowly at 40kmh. After letting the car to cool down for abt 1/2hr, i tried to refill my radiator. I realized my radiator coolant is empty and when i start my engine, i could see water leaking from the adapter area. The adapter diameter is actually smaller than my radiator hose. So bobian, this morning went to find hose clamp from hardware shop to temporary fix it and send the car to regular workshop in the afternoon.

Lesson learnt... Save tens of dollars and spent more afterwards.

Should have install in local workshop, at least it is easier to resolve problem or complications later.
Furthermore, Volt, Vacuum shoudl be easy job, only water temp more time consuming and i doubt requires 6hrs including travel time.

I tot TRC only do chassis bars... Coolant sensor adaptor must fit tight to hose before clamping, should be 28-30mm, must b clamped both ends to avoid leaking during high temp/pressure. Additional info: thermostat opens half @ 82°C & full open @ 95°C. Err... 6hrs???

They forgot to clamp the other end i think cause e other end where it leaked got no clamp. They do almost everything, servicing, bodykits, accessories and many more...

I not worried abt ur pipe, but on running temp. Higher running temp den norm means additional heat caused by friction in engine.

Erm, if got do regular oil change etc... shouldn't be a problem right? Btw i ask my wkshop to do servicing at the same time.

Its not the oil actually. In case eng overheat, certain moving parts might not be able to take the heat stress while revving, or expand more than normal, thus causing slight wear/deform of parts. Running temp will increase due to this. Last thing we hope is this happen to the crankshaft.

Sounds so scary... But theres no red engine overheat light appear on cluster. I'v ask the workshop to do a full check on the car. Hope it can hit the road today evening or tmr. Guess i'v to attend meetups more frequently. Will update condition of the car. Thanks for advice gresini

hyerxmas, u go jb did u saw silicon coolant hose for picas? I heard silicon hose can hold up to 290deg. They usually hide their parts in their store. www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002572668159You send a message to check with Vox motorsport, i prefer Vox more than TRC... Used to support Vox, den 1st time try TRC kena this type of thing. lols
