width increase, more friction, more petrol comsumption
thickness decrease, your road noise will go up.
Good thing about this: your ride become much more stable

Sorry, another questions from me. As mentioned, my tire profile is now 165/60R14, and if I would like to change to 185/55R14, do I need to change rims?

princess why don't u go arrow tyres for a start? don't need to buy there, just go there view. They have a lot of things to let you see one...
alternatively, u can go for meet up, u will have more opinions there as well... a lot of experienced drivers there to intro u good tyres and also good and affordable places to buy your stuff. On the spot answer sia!

Nakshire, thanks for the advice, that was my plan too.. Go window shopping and look see look see.. Sometimes at car park, I see other picanto, I will go n see their tyres and interior deco too.. Haha.. But I will look around first la.. Incase ppl thought I m some weirdo.. Or worst, trying to steal stuff.. Lol!

For me, I feel best is 165 / 60 R14. So when your speedometer show 80/km but actually your speed is 82/km. If you feel tyre width not enough for sharp turn, get a Strut bar for that.
