Was just wondered i'f anyone else has done so I can see what engine bay looks like with turbo and intercooler Hi, i think you will need to sit down and see what kind of sizes you want for your pipings, usually a 2" will suffice and the less bends are usually welcomed for smoother airflow, but in a picanto, space is really a constraint and you might want to consider relocationg your battery to the rear boot for added space to mount the turbo and a custom manifold where you can place all the cluster where the battery used to be. Please ensure you remove the catalyic converter immediately and join it together with a exos system with at least 1.8" all the way through. You might want to "operate" on your stock exos to clear the air clutter inside and make it hollow, but place some fibreglass material to have a more solid sound instead of sounding like a empty tin. if you have trouble trying to mount a TMIC, try a smaller sized FMIC at the below bumper area, usually a small one will fit you perfectly to generate a not so lag boost. Remember, the connecting hoses i would suggest you to use Samco and secure it with those clip rings which you can tighten using a size 10 wrench instead of those screwdriver type. Hate those boost leaks. Try the settings with a cheap boost controller like Apexi AVCR and set it to 0.25bar to test first and slowly increase the boost. Engine internals, there are none to enhance as they do not manufacture it for Pica's engine. You will have to think of how to upgrade the piston sizes on your own measuring the height, diameter and rings dimensions before you compare it with aftermarket types. I think aftermarket Honda types might be applicable but i am not 100% sure. You will need some serious honing and re-sleeving works. For the engine head itself, try to increase the clearance a little bit so that the pistons would not knock on the head assembly. DO NOT skim the head and lower block as it will give you a higher compression ratio which you would dislike as long as the engine is still alive. Cams are not worth the time and effort to increase the valve lifts and counter balance. Save it to send your springs and valves for ceramic coatings and port & polish the valve seats to achieve the perfect seal and seating. clearance of the tappet valves are equally important too. usually i think most people are really happy with 0.5 - 0.8bar of boost for a picanto, those 1.3bar torcon kinds you get of youtube are usually running rolling on a dyno machine and never seen on a drag event due to the probable clutch slips and burns and sticks together resulting in a clutch jammed feature. All i can say is, for a picanto turbo, the mods you will have to go through are pretty extensive and it is always good to ask around with your turbo car friends to see what sort of setup they have and what are the problems they face and how they resolve it. Morale of the story, for a turbo setup to be a quite good setup, your pockets have to be kinda deep, if you are intending to go bolt on, nothing else matters, just mount the bugger and live with the boost fixed and not to be increased. You won't want your pistons flying out of your bonnet and create a few "air vent" holes.....
