Is the remote on the key itself or on a separate gadget?
If its on the key itself, its probably a 'keyless entry' remote... ie. it only controls the locking & unlocking of the door... there is no alarm... thus, there is no 'tiew tiew' sound...
Unless its a separate gadget, or a alarm that you have installed aftermarket... then you will ahve the alarm's 'tiew tiew' sound..

No need to change your existing 'keyless entry' remote... If u install an aftermarket car alarm, its jus an add-on gadget. Then u can just stick to the alarm remote & dont use the 'keyless entry' remote.
Depending on wat u want, if u just wan a alarm system, then a simple one can cost ard $60 to $150. If u wan an alarm system that comes with 2-way alarm, shock sensor etc, it can set u back ard $180 to a couple of hundreds...

I just went back to C&C and they reset it for me. Now have sound when I lock/unlock the car. Sometimes dun trust forum people too much...

Carens indeed dont come pre-installed with alarm... if yours have, it means your sales/ agent has threw in an alarm for you. furthermore, u must know that there's a difference between 'keyless entry' & 'alarm lock'... these are 2 separate thing... Even if it is true, I don't understand why you even bother to explain.....Afterall, we are branded as just a bunch of crooks or pple who talk nonsense......or worse rubbish. Cool it people. Did not mean to offend anyone.
It is obvious from the thread-starter that he is interested in the 'tiew tiew' sound (from locking/unlocking from remote), not the car alarm. Therefore, the advice given does not tally. What's the point of highlighting that there is no factory-installed car alarm?
The fact is clear : The original lock/unlock remote does have 'tiew tiew' sound.
(I dun understand why I must " know that there's a difference between 'keyless entry' & 'alarm lock'... these are 2 separate thing..." Totally irrelevant right?)
