Hi guys,
anyone seen or DIY their own fuel pump replacement before? I got a question here..
There is this black plastic thingy surround the fuel pump cover. Does anyone knows how to remove that? I need to get to the bolts holding the fuel pump cover. Or should the fuel pump be removed by taking the fuel tank out.
Which is the way? From my KIA tech manual, it claims to be removed from the back seat. Any ideas or help?
Cheers!

Never did this before..
But from what it looks like, u can access the pump by remove that "black" cover.. The pump is in-tank..

thats what I thought.. But i tried all these but failed to remove it. I know how to replace my fuel pump, just that this black plastic thingy is in the way of my progress! 1) twisting the damn thing 2) Pulling 3) thought of sawing it off

no nuts and bolt holding it. I'm really puzzled by this. I have done so many fuel pumps replacement for different car models and this is the first time I have seen such things. I guess the worst case would be to remove my fuel tank.. geesh and yanuk, no I don't work for c&c..why would I work for a company that sucks big time?

Hi bro , the black thing is some kind of lock-nut.u need to turn anti-clockwise to remove i guess.Seems that there is special tool needed to turn it .If u break it may need to replace new one.I try to sent it to workshop to opened and i will inform u on how they do it.

They really aren't that bad lah.. hahah many PI are worse. Is the black 'cap' a safety device or safety shut off valve? I read that the cerato has a safety cut of valve in the event on an accident.

Hi Yanuk, yes, I know you are joking.. but I wasn't joking about C&C Hi 250whp, yes you are correct, its a twist top.. i guess you really need alot of strength or some special tools to do it.. I guess I have to sit this one out and bring it to a workshop to help me loosen it.

pump = $60 ( off a fren who was demoding his STi) installation = DIY with 2 cans of beer
and if you are wondering about FC, has not seen any effect yet.
Cheers!

Can share is why muz change fuel pump?..For higher flow?..Fuel pump and fuel injector 2 different things rite?..Injector is in the engine near the fuel rail?..Sorry, no clue so ask many questions.. Hi bro, to answer your questions 1) Why change fuel pump Its to achieve a higher fuel flow. This is necessary if you are planning to TC ur ride. However, not only is a high flow fuel pump required but also ur injectors (our cerato is only a 200++cc injectors running on 13.5ohm). Don't forget a fuel regulator. Its useless to have a high flowing fuel pump and injectors but still running stock fuel pressure. The only negative part is that since our fuel regulator is located together with our fuel pump, we have to convert the fuel regulator to a returnless line. Without these, TCing any car will be dangerous as pinging will occur due to a lean fuel supply. 2)Fuel pump and fuel injector 2 different things rite?..Injector is in the engine near the fuel rail? Yes they are 2 different things. Fuel pump is located at the back of your car. And the injectors are connected to the fuel rail which is next to your intake manifold. You can see it pretty clearly when you look around your intake manifold. Hope I have answered your questions. Cheers!

Actually, you do not need to have a TC car to install any of these items. These stuffs are mainly equipments to ensure that if you are looking for big horsepower, your engine will be fitted with the required equipments to ensure no lean fuel ratio. I used the same setup on my B20 civic too.. and its not a TC civic..

By the way bro nakata when u install the adjustable fuel regulator and 255l pump, the stock preset regulator in the fuel pump(round silver cylinder) u take out or by pass or still use it.
