Hi! Newbie here. Have more or less decided to buy the Carens as we need an MPV and the value-for-money factor is something we couldn't ignore. So... anyway... Chances are I'm be changing the rims to 16" or 17" inch immediately after delivery. But I've been doing some search on the forum and I couldn't find the wheel's PCD and offset. Cos I'll be shopping for rims... Pardon me if I ask before doing a in-depth search... also to intro myself...

I understand... that's tyre size. Not all 17" rims will fit Carens mah. So whether can fit or not will be determined by: 1) PCD 2) Offset We know PCD... so we don't need to discuss this. For offset, say for example, my ride now has an offset of 52.5mm. If I get rim that has 43mm, the rim 'sink' in. And I will require a steering limiter to in order to prevent my tyres from rubbing against the wheel arch when I make a full turn. On the other hand, if I get a rim with offset that is much larger than 52.5mm. My rim will protude out of the car. Actually, that's illegal because rules says that nothing must protude out beyond the car body. Maybe this article can clarify what I am saying... www.cjtire.com/pdf/Selecting%20Wheels.pdf Scroll down to the section on "Wheel Offset". Anyway... all I can say is that the KIA SC is a little hopeless, asked him and he said he doesn't know...

Cool... everyone shares & benefits from this forum... right? That's true and fundamental. Anyway, we have not bought the Carens yet. But that should happen within the next 1-2 days before the next COE bidding. Pretty much a no-brainer decision given the value-for-money factor. So unless there is a sudden change of mind... I'll see you guys during one of the meet-ups.

The SE I got is ok (other than not knowing the finer points on PCD/offset and suspension). Have already entertained us twice, so he deserves his commission so not very nice to get another SE involved now. BUT... thank you so much for your offering! Very kind of you indeed!

Found the following...
For >MY06 Kia Carens, rims with offset between 35mm to 42mm should be suitable. But whether need steering limiter or if wheels will protude out of wheel arch will be dependent on rim design.
Hope this is useful...

Actually I've thot about 18". The Carens can definitely take it. It's just the cost of tyres that deter me. Also.... don't think my family would appreciate it.
