Hi guys!! Did anyone install the Ninja Racing Capsule Filter into the sportage? How is it? Does it fullfil what it promises (achieves 10-15% of HP, 1.8x faster in throttle response, 20% fuel saving)?

Never install it myself, still on stock paper filter. If U ask me, it'll be a miracle to even achieve 25% of the claimed figures!!! BTW, do you know which atmosphere they pluck the figures from? Under what sort of condition(before and after), how was it recorded? Bernard

Well actually got those figures from their advertisement in Wheels Asia Magazine. Saw some guys from Pica giving their testimonials there. U may want to check it out at www.ninja-racing.com. I'm too also wondering how true too....

I'm too also wondering how true too.... Personally, I'll be hard pressed to believe those figures, I would think the 'actual' figures that could be achieve be at the lower count of single numeric figures. Maybe 5% max? If changing a single air filter and cold air intake could yield such figures, the engineers who design the original items on the vehicle will be standing in front of the firing squad. Furthermore, many of these figures are usually achieved at high rpm ranges and unless U like to rev your engine, you might not see the benefits at all. Best option is test drive someone who has fitted it to the same vehicle, but for Sportage I don't think anyone in the forum has it installed. (Unless someone backside itchy ) By the way, do you know how much are they marketing this item for? I personally would fancy a oil free filter(Panel or open pod) in an insulated air box, possibly keeping the OEM air ducts which picks up air behind the left headlights/bumper. FYI, the OEM location of the Sportage air ducts results in air intake temps of between mid 30s to mid 50s degree celcius most of the time. Avg around 40s range after crusing on highway and can 'spike' to high 50s when stuck in a traffic jam. Bernard

It's abt S$330 w installation. They claimed that had installed a Sportage but not sure which edition.
Not sure they're can do the oil free filter(Panel or open pod). But so far do you approach any shop for that?

But so far do you approach any shop for that? Pod filter can be sourced, the custom air box can go to shops like Man Exhuast to have them make one. Exact cost I don't have it as I didn't get any quotes. But the bulk of it would be for the filter box. Bernard

Y Asked this morning, but they only do Cold-Air-Charging. You mean Man exhuast? There are a few others that can do the job, else find a metal work coy to do fabricate one. Bernard
