Erm, I think 17km/ltr is a fantastic figure for an auto Picanto already! I'm hovering around 11.8km/ltr now....

hi dude... i read b4 ur hyunda forum, and saw u did some recommendation... changing to ultra light rim etc... i also wan to ask what brand of ultra light rim good? price? btw what ur recommend mod? i should do? Get a set of ultra-lightweight Advanti rims from any of the Shell Autoserv Station, together with a set of Yokohama A-Drive tyres will cost $1200 in total. I recommend EPS fuel saver ($99) available at TrustyResources. You can contact the shop director, Johnny Tang at 98524328. It is far more cheaper than Broquet. Alternatively, you can remove your spare tyre and switch to fan mode.

If you want better performance, don't consider the "plug and play" add ons. Go for the direct enhancements such as BBTB, midpipe, exhaust, lightweight rims, etc.

Sorry for being such a wet blanket. But most of the time new cars will have better FC. i remember my Manual Pica ever hitting 22KM/L when it was a few months old. But now as my ride ages, the FC will start to degrade. ( Getting only13 - 14)
A car works just like a Human body, the older it is the more problem it has. And my piece of advise (No offense to anyone), The Best MOD is not to MOD. Stock Condition is always the Best. And the Best form of Fuel Saver is always your "Right Foot". You can have all the fuel saving gadgets but if you are a heavy footer, it works out to ZERO. What you put in equal to what you get out.
I hope my words have not offended anyone. This is some of the experience I have gather from owning my Ride for the past 2 years.

My stock Verna has only 10km/l fuel consumption rating but after the modification, it shoots up to 15km/l (highway) and 13.5km/l (city). Occasionally, I revved up to 6k RPM to overtake at high speed. "Plug and play" like VS, stainless-steel air-filter, VSD2, etc, add-ons don't do much effect, based on my experience.
Best is to go for the direct ones. For example, the super lightweight rims. Turning off air-con will help but not that impressive.
The solution is to control your right-foot but since Picanto is a rather slow car (no offense), you need to input higher pressure on the throttle to keep up with other cars. So it translates into higher FC.
The more power your ride has, the better FC it has, because of the lighter throttle depression as compared to weaker and smaller cars.
Thus, it explains why Lexus, Toyota Camry, BMW 5 series and even Evo X has better FC than my ride.

u trying to say if mod can make engine efficient then mean efficient -> better engine performance -> better FC??? BTW which Advanti rims? any model no:? The lighter and more engine power your ride is, the lesser you have to depress the throttle, the more fuel efficient your ride is. I would say that out of so many items I installed, the rims give me the best feedback. I am not sure about the model of my Advanti rims.

You can purchase it from Shell Autoserv Station, Mandai. There should be compatible Advanti rims for your Picanto.
