hi, can anyone advise me what are the required parts for a major servicing that requires timing belt change.
For now I only know of the basic few things : 1) Engine Oil 2) Oil Filter 3) Timing Belt
Any idea on the price for workmanship?

there is a workshop at AMK autopoint, Chuan auto...think at level 3 or 4.. Bro Evererin change his there...timing belt n water pump + labour = $300+...
oil filter n oil change quite standard everywhere... for me, i do at jb..cheap
i brough my brake pad, engine oil n oil filter. so labour to change oil, change filter, servicing my rear brake drums, labour to change my brake pad n various point check n topping up of necessary fluid = $80rm. labour to flush n refill my self brought coolant is $12rm.

My Rio's steering wheel also tends to go to the left when moving... is it because of alignment? Mine's ODO is about 8300km..... so fast got problem??

according to manual, Kia Rio 2006 timing belt change need to replace at 60,000 km. I replaced it at esso lavender as recommend by my colleagues, cost me $330 for all belts, timing tentioner and water pump. That shop Hyundai speacialist shop, my parts all Hyundai parts, I guess Gets or Verna parts.

total 3 belt they replace..one timing belt. and 2 belt just below it.. i think should be aircon and the steering..anyway to confirm? I think its the 3 pully belts outside the engine, for power steering, aircon compressor and alternator. 190 bucks is quite steep, but not a killer though. timing belt change is definitely more costly than that and needs to open engine head cover and side cover. anyway, for info, any of those three snaps, its not good but not in direct danger, e.g. power steering lost can overcome by your arm power. But should the timing belt snaps, its a total desaster for engine + immediate jammed halt on the road. new cars have valve gaps built to piston heads to prevent that, not sure about our Rio though. the timing belt can last much longer as up to many hundreds of km, but it is wiser to change around 100k or below.

Do car timing chain have CCT?? 190 is quite steep?? what should be reasonable price?? I changed the three pully belts at CnC, about 130, can't really remember exact amt though. What is CCT? Our Rio engine has both timmimg belt and chain, belt between main crank shaft to one cam shaft, and chain linked between two cam shafts. 1.6l engines have CVVT on both cam shafts, 1.4l engines are direct from timimg belt to cams.

CCT refer to Cam Chain Tensioner is for auto adjusting the timing chain once it has slack..
