Timing chain are much more lasting than belts... If all goes well, may not even need changing throughout the drive-life of your car...

60-80k... (usually 60k) but depends on wear & tears.... some even earlier...

Timing chain much more better, not only it will last long but normally before it gives away, it will sound a bit weird from your engine bay and it tells you "please change me very soon!!". Unlike timing belt, if you completely forgot, it's gonna cost you a bomb because the belt just snapped and ripped of all your timing valve..that means top overhaul need to be done. I still keep my Alfa Romeo 155 1.8 8v which runs on timing chain and it do wonders to your wallet in terms of maintenance.

eh as in the NewCarens sold now. Those made in 2006 is run on timing chain? That would be great.
Was just talking about timing belt with my friend a day ago and comparing the difference.

Have you saw the new Cerato Forte yet? You can give it a chance.. amazing features and specs and the 2.0L top spec-ed costs around 52k only..
