Hi Guys,
I have a bad habit, and its like when i m in a foul mood, i will rev the picanto real hard, like hitting 4500 5000rpm then upshift, then rev again... i m driving a auto.
can anyone share what are the effects of doing so, say 10% of the driving time?
how much would it cost for a replacement engine should this engine piang?

another thing is ur FC will be higher!
i oso have the habit to rev higher when moving off, but lighter foot when i go 3-4 gear...

i always rev to 6k too, my take on this is, no major mod+ proper servicing, should be ok ba.
unless yours TC or running high comp then u should be worried

Unless u rev the engine beyond redline, then u shd not be worried.. There's a rev limiter to prevent it from blowing up.. No worries..

Actually I think engine should be able to take it. It's more the gearbox / transmission that may not be able to take it, especially auto-box.
The auto transmission will build up deposits faster when revving hard. You might want to make sure you stick to your maintenance schedule on the auto-fluid.

engines wun blow up. I've seen a few engines that die from redline "over-exposure" the engine just cut off like like someone pull the key out of your car.
the only side effect is FC suffer big time. other than that, as mentioned, go for regular servicing change engine oil is no problem already.

yup, engine just dies off naturally and refuse to fire up.
Wow, alot of hiong fierce carbon clearing picas here ar.
That's why I prefer to scrap my pica if changing ride. Lifespan about there liao cannot go around 'harming' others pocket.
