My '06 model rio is manual gear model, the clutch pedal somehow got edgy sound once i footed it, I went to workshop, they said can't repair unless i change the pedal system. Does anyone got this problem too, how to resolve it without change it? Thanks

search from web, it probably is the sound from clutch master cylinder, lubing it maybe can reduce the sound, but no idea how to do it.

I have feedback to C&C for this problem as well and they told me its fine. And there is nothing wrong with it. I goot a feeling that the clutch will jam and will burn big hole in pocket to have it repair outside. So if any bros here managed to get these ppl to solve this problem, please post it here. I will go back 3 times to them and they told me these crap.

Hi Bro all,
Mine had the same prob last time, and i think most of the cases you guys have are the same as mine. its very irritating, and embarrassing when friends ride with you.. sounds like and old lorry. The clutch assembly in the cabin prior to pump is a few springs, joints and padel. they make noise if not lubricated..
it is very hard to reach every joints if u dun disassemble it, so i used spray lubricant. DON'T USE WD40. It is good, but you will regret the smell which will not be gone for months.
buy those silicone spray (also use for interior coating) that include lubricant with nice scent, spray upwards towards to clutch assembly under dashboard, spray plenty to different zones.. the squeeky sound should be gone.
you can use the same way to other squeeky sound prone areas, like underneath driver's seat, plastic penal joints in the hatchback boot area, underneath dash board, door & boot hinges, etc. you'll be pleased with it.
hope my 2 cents worth.. ;D

the squeaky sound from my clutch is from the engine cabin not under dashboard...its like the clutch rusty or wat....the sound only come during hot day...i can see where the sound come from but dunno whether wd40 can or not...

Hi I am having the same problem too, clutch having 'squeaking' or 'creaking' sound from engine bay when pressed...went to a workshop and checked...mechanic tried to lubricate but no use...in the end told me clutch pump faulty... cctan, can i check with u how much C&C charge for the clutch pump change?

Not done @ C & C, done it outside workshop. The receipt i throw away already, if i didn't remember wrong, damage around $170 for 2 clutch pump and $40 for workmanship.

cctan, you changed 2 clutch pump? master and slave cylinders? the sound came from both cylinders? Where you bought the cylinders?
I called Ming Ghee, they said price for only master cylinder cost $220.. damp expensive. Search from net, they are people out trhere repaired it by changing a spring in the cylinder.

Hi bros,
Initially there are sound after quite, go C & C they said change some cable that i'm not very sure. So after sometimes when there is an jam that causes me to clutch in & out too many times, the clutch beame very loose then gear can't engage in. So i go to workshop to check my clutch, the mechanic said one of my clutch pump already not in good condition, so he ask me to change both of them lor.

This is a very common problem for KIA manual ride. My previous RIO also have the same problem. C&C change alot of parts like bush, bearing, cable then solved it. But it will comes back later on cos the cable is dry. just need to lubricate the cable will do.

Went to CnC and as expected, cos i nvr service with them, they insisted i do a full service b4 checking my clutch prob...quoted me $400 plus for the servicing!! Of cos i walked off, before i drove off, CnC guy even came out to copied my mileage and car plate like dicipline teacher... Went to workshop in industrial park..got better and cheaper service from mechanic from China...he removed my clutch sleeve pump to blow clean and lubricate my clutch fock (whatever that is?!?) ..prob solved..not so simple..he had to remove few screws and lubricate the inner part of the gear box...
