One thing i noticed is that, when driving.... Try to ease on the gas pedal. I finds it very fuel efficient to just lightly step on the pedal & let the Carens move... ie. Just tap & go...
Even if u steps hard, the 'extra' energy that the car (engine) generate will not make the car move any extra fast, but is instead wasted...
So, just lightly 'tap & go' to generate sufficient energy to move the car will definitely means better fuel economy on the long run...

I will try to hypermill again and again and see how much km can be achieved with 1 litre of fuel. And indeed, you are right that, I do pump from the same kiosk, even from the same nozzle, and about the same time of the day. And most important of all, data speaks, I let the on-board trip computer to tell me how many km possible range can be achieved from the fuel tank. For example, if previously the computer showed 529km possible range, then in the latest refueling I would also pump in until I can see at least 529 km possible range or more, it means there is no bias, the fuel up level is about to the same height as the previous refuel.

Over the weekend, travelled 146km, and refueled, the similar times of nozzle auto click, and about similar possible range, 15.013km / Litre. It is good to have new target for my many more weekends to come. I would try to hypermill to get consistent 16km/L, try my best.

Just to know if there is any possibility the gear box can be changed to 6-speed automatic, with the final ratio as low as < 0.5 ? That will be the ultimate fuel saving method without needing to change engine, and not chaning Carens....

It should be 55 litres.
Currently my on-board trip computer shows 9.9 L/100km average FC. Based on 55 litres full tank, if I really fill full, the POSSIBLE RANGE should show (55/9.9) x 100 = 555.5 km.
Normally when I fuel to 7 clicks, the possible range shows 534km. It means the possible range is just 21 km short of the full range.
Based on the on-board computer calculation 9.9L/100km, it means I just under-fuel 2.13L, that's after 7 clicks of the fuel nozzle, which indeed make sense.
So, the full tank size is 55L, per what Kia designed Carens to be.

from kl subang to joo chait fei fei wanton. 1 person with 80kg of goods in the boot all speed limit with occasional overtaking. last pumped at shell's last station before Singapore 383 = km travelled in 1 trip below that is the fuel used on this trip. 570 = km left till fuel ends 1.5 = liters per hour as i stopped. after cruising down NE highway at 100-110km/h constantly.
i come to a conclusion that Caren cruise and save most fuel around 80-90km/h.
i might be wrong but it seems to be for my car.

Yipee, You are not wrong ! My on-board trip computer shows the same, 90km/h shows the most optimum = lowest FC. after cruising down NE highway at 100-110km/h constantly. i come to a conclusion that Caren cruise and save most fuel around 80-90km/h. i might be wrong but it seems to be for my car.

For our fuel tank of 55litre.. does it mean we can travel up to 660km with a FC of 12km/litre.. its unbelievable.. better than my previous 1.1M getz..

Yes, it is absolutely achievable. I do not speak for others, but for myself, I am a typical HYPERMILLER = super crazy low FC fan. Do all sorts of hard-sweating action in the ride even without any air cond, and careful not to apply brakes as much as possible which also lead to the need to control the tyre free rolling without throttle when situations warrants that..... I could hit > 14.58 km/L with such consious driving, but the criteria is.....must fill up the tank when fuel gauge needle just firstly fell below the top line..... For our fuel tank of 55litre.. does it mean we can travel up to 660km with a FC of 12km/litre.. its unbelievable.. better than my previous 1.1M getz..

My ride at 17300 km range, already facing one spoilt horn, and vibrating air cond compressor. The noise from the vibrating belt.....just do not know how much longer to wait before can get replacement. yes. So at the time of fueling up to the brim, Scangauge may display the estimated range is 570 + 57 = 627 km ?

Now, the procedure in Malaysia is that...the Service Centre needs to wait for warranty claim to be approved, this will take 5 working days (supposed to be today). After that, arrange to send part to Service Centre, this I am not sure... as for the experience of the horn previously, it takes 5 months to wait. This time air cond compressor....wow....I can't foresee...Air cond is still working well, just that the vibrating compressor causes the belt to make louder and louder sound to the cabin day by day......

Wah 5 months !!!! This is crazy. From my experience with C&C.....usually 2~3 weeks only. For critical feature like air-con, immediate repair lor. When my OCV failed, they get the parts within 1 week.... what noise from air con compressor belt? small faint tak tak tak tak and faster with the engine when cold start?
