4 years if proper maintance, regular servicing, and not the type to use to speed all the time.

so far the car is out only 4 year... 2004- 2008... no one can comment if the car can go more for now...
with proper servicing and regular check and no prolong rev of the car, i think the car is like any jap car...

I repeated b4--- One picantorian with his 4 yr old ride clocking 120000 mileage and no major problems... so u think it can last?? Generally cars are made to last more than 10 yrs... I reckon our pica will go down in history creating same impact as once popular diahatsu charade..

how do u all define "lasting"? Problem free?? its not possible...not even for a BMW.... Or "lasting" means tht i doesnt fall apart and explode? then rest assure it wont.... those 10yrs+ cars on the roads r also not "lasting" cars what... they might have changed their gearbox twice.... fixed the aircon compressor leak 20 times....
But if u wanna talk about a problem free car... I will say 4 to 5 yrs will be a fair gauge before problems start popping out.... eg: gearbox and aircon

I think i'm the oldest pica here (SFM). ;D. So far my ride still running strong. No major problem except the rear water leaking issue which was caused by the local installer when they install our reverse sensor. It's great cars tat'd serve me well since Aug 2004. Gd FC & easy to drive ard with the low maintainance oso.

wohoo, those zoom zoom type. cunning wolf behind red riding hood face. look so rusty metal, hidden with so many powerful gadgets. Very true ... I can recall that my friend had such an exp before ... He went to 'jio' a Proton (he drove a civic at that time) while in JB before ... Smell smoke of cos ... can't even take a good glimpse at the plate no. Later that day, he visited a workshop there which he usually frequented. When he re-told this exp to the mechanic, this is what he was replied [loosely translated] : - " Peng you, you quite got balls leh. Cos our Proton here can be fitted with an EVO 6 engine. Maybe you have already met 1 ... haha " Since that time, my friend now very 'goody-guy' now ...

agreed. in Singapore with so strict checks n inspections, how to compete wif malaysia cars.
Think we better be humble n drive safely. we r the the ground, they are the sky, cant compete 1, so buying performance car in SG is kinda waste.
A Good example is the case of the robbery by MY merc can chase the SG ferraris on NSH. means our ferraris or maserati r crippled when the reach SG

concept of singaporean think car cannot last more than 10 yrs. its already a poison to every persons living here. some even think best to change car every 2 yrs. as long u maintenance yr car well it will give you less pro. no maintenance big problem. The only problems all facing is $$ problem which we r facing now. Got $$ to do repair? or got $$ to change car or as long as you own a car you own the banks $$ for all yr whole living life. how irony life is ask your self how long and whats the amount you intend to own the banks $$
