Hi folks, Just need some enlightenment. Understand that if wish to convert to normal car, will need to top up the 17k of whatever remaining pro-rated for the 10 yr period. So after conversion, if I decide to re-conert back to opc, will the balance amt be credited back in terms of cash??

u r allow to change..but they will not rebate u the $17k. if ur car is a normal plate and u wanna convert it to OPC..all u have to do is to do the paperwork then after tat get the number plate done. After that u will be entitle to the $500 road tax rebate. But not the S$17k rebate.so if u think u r rich enough to convert ur car from OPC to normal plate then back to OPC ofcos u can do it.as long as u think u r rich enough.,,.

Haizz, know then I know that our system so 'flexible'. Cos of work commitment, thats y having such tots. Being offered a position that requires to have car. Paying $500 for trnsport. so I may need to use day coupons instead le. Reckon will use up abt $400 for e coupons and left $100 for the petrol. ha. Anyway thanks for all info folks.

no u can change from normal to weekend, provided u already have no loan with the car but the rebate u will get it only after u scrape the car. can check with LTA.

New prospective job paying only miserly $500 for transport.. Contemplating converting to normal plate but after analysing, think I will buy day coupons x 20 days instead. Left $100 for petrol, still have to top up some petrol $$ from my actual pay. Rather Keep my opc status intact just in case.. Cant fathom the tot of throwing 13+k jus for 24/7 convenience sake. Rather keep it and stick to my 'minimising liability' concept
