I dunno why. but ever since 2 months ago..i have gotten to realise that my journey in my f/l picanto is like travelling in the old school buses with super bumpy rides. its not like as if there are so many manholes on the road but my ride is just terrible! i mean these are new 13" tyres im talking about..tried to pump air and even got c&c to check during my recent 5k servicing but they said no problem..and on the road even the slightest uneven-ness on the road can be felt cos the ride is so jerky and bumpy.
could it be because i travel to jb very often and the road there is more uneven as such have to pump in air pressure of 230 instead? so far i have been pumping air pressure of 220. aiyah the ride is terrible. feel so embarrassed to let ppl sit in my car also.
dunno wad to do.

change to a softer suspension system if u like but i would like to have a slightly hard setting cuz it can handle hard braking and corners better but end of the day still up to individual, dont be embarrassed to let ppl sit in ur car its kind of a plus point

so it is pretty normal for a picanto to have a bumpy ride? how about tyre balancing? what is that all about and is it necessary for me to have that done? =)

pump 210 enof for 13inch stock tyres. Maybe your stock tyre sidewall is medium hard. mayb u can tell what brand and model of your tyre C&C gave u.
Kumho 758 is ok(stock last time) at 210kpa as sidewall is thin so can absorb shock. i think 210kpa will give you comfort n less shock. Im sure it will improve.

yup.. a damper is your suspension system does the job of stopping your spring from bouncing up and down too much.. for a better explanation and diagram, check this out: auto.howstuffworks.com/car-suspension2.htmyeah.. stock sus is very comfortable already.. should try out D2's... my god they are really stiff.... i like!

Just try to get used to our lil economiccal pica and as long as engine last us till its 10th yr, I guess it served its purpose of providing cheap and value for money ride. Cheap ride sure bound to have hiccups here and there. Been contemplating to upgrade but felt sinful, esp when economy not looking rosy for the rest of 08 and into 09 too.. sianz..

I doubt so.. Imho and also market speculation that its due to correction and will surely rebound in the months to come. Given the shortage of oil worldwide and worsening global economical outlook, prices should be set to spiral upwards, maybe in a more gradual way, unlike the previous hefty weekly kinda increase..

last few mths, those kinda increase rate is basically someone is behind controlling the market, And there also dont have a suddenly demend of petrol around the world so sudden too,.yes oil price will slowly go up.but not at this rate..tat is too much.,even our inflation rate suddenly go up so much.

Actually i cant reli be bothered by the petrol price, not cos im rich. Conversely, Im just a poor chap. But I always tell myself this - To own a car in sg is reli an extravagant hobby/liability, unless u need it for work commitments, which I believe 90% of us dun. My philosophy is to reduce to liability to the minimum. Thus decided on this car. At times, I kinda regretted not getting a bigger cc ride cos more shiok pickup. Myself being single and also the heavily regulated roads, it simply does not justify the 'desire' to increase the liability. $$ saved can be better channel to effective investment avenues to generate more $$. Even if one is not investment savvy, still $$ saved=$$ earned. So pica is already the most value for $$ in terms of running costs. (Wat I can saved, I already saved) The only regret is that I should have gotten a Getz 1.1 as I prefer the exterior more than pica..

Our pica trade-in price better?? I still tot both trade in identical cos they r almost the same. I know getz guzzles something like 1.5-2km/l more than pica, but should translate to >$20(opc)/ >$40 per mth. Which version of getz ur friend having?? Understand the previous 1.3 was very bad guzzler

yeah the getz is a guzzler cuz it's about 1.1 tonnes.. some hefty 200kg of metal heavier.. of course FC is poor.. =) pica is the best in terms of compromise between pick up, FC and overall economy.. love my pica!

Recently, due to a minor 'accident' on my 'boi', I was given a 1.1 Getz as a replacement car for 3 days. My .... that machine really drinks petrol like water. Maybe the 1.4 version would be balance for the car .... 1.1 really underpower. And I'm really thankful I had gotten my Picanto becos : - 1) It has 1 of the best FC in the automobile market. 2) I would prefer Picanto's interior ahead of Getz, although it's bigger lar. 3) Getz still more ex in terms of costs 4) Still can 'style' my ride also ....
