Just went last month for the 3 year inspection.
HID are a definitely fail for the Picanto. If you want to incur a fine of up to $1200, go inspect without changing back to halogen.
Tinted windows have to be within regulated darkness. The Picanto sticker behind is fine. Sunshades at the front windscreen has to be no more than 6" in height.
The inspector shared with me that more smaller cars are failing their inspection nowadays because more drivers are doing illegal mods. So be careful; they are on a lookout.
Some things that may guarantee a re-inspection. 1. tinted headlights or taillamps 2. covered taillamps (the Lucky Star taillamp cover may not pass) 3. operated exhaust / muffler / cat converter / extractor etc 4. dark tinted windows in the front 5. undercarriage lights and lights on all over the car where they are not supposed to be 6. HID lights 7. LCD screens in the front that are not automatically cut off when car is in motion (controversial)

I went for my 3 yr inspection on 2nd of May at BB Vicom. Overall inspection: $72++. Took about 30mins. Headlights inspection....fail but they passed you. Mine stock headlites. I tink its due to diff car alightment. Thats wat my frend to me. Mine OPC and they checked the 2 licence plate seal...thats they charged you $10. Other inspections $50. Tinted windows behind are ok, as long its LTA approved.

No la. They did not open my bonnet. If not, they will find lots of contra goods. Kidding la. No worries. Have faith. As long as your HID is stock, it work fine. All lights they check. All breaks they check. Engine sound they check. Steering wheel check. Tinted windows behind they check. Actually inspection fee is $58 bfore gst. Mine OPC, so license plate seals check at $10. Thats it and good luck.
