Highly recommend Garmin Nuvi 300. I got 1 myself but its Nuvi 200. Bought it at Sim Lim Sq. 1st level shop named Perfect Watch. Nuvi 200 price at $339 w/o the SD card. Buy it, no regret and its good investment.

Agreed. Street idiot like me need 1 of that. But simple, straight-forward and hassle free road not a problem. But big town like Tampines, AMK, etc. I really need guide. Thats how GPS comes about.

The GPS in spore are not as good and accurate... DO NOT depend solely on it as its 'dead' in its road. Its only good when you totally don't know the place you're going... if not, your way will always oust the GPS...
In the near future, there will more functions installed such as road conditions as the GPS will route away from it...
I do not know if all GPS are the same but some can also use as street directory, can look for places...

I had heard about Holux too...Seen one on the taxi driver recently and looked quite useful...will even let you know if there is an upcoming speed camera...but it will constantly tell you to slow down too...haha..maybe a bit irritating...

Also, I have back up the files in the GPS package in my Laptop and replace the US map with the SG map in the device memory. SD card seems to be useless to me as I do not load mp3 songs to the GPS device. The device memory in the GPS is about 2gb, more than enough for maps.

This feature is avaliable when you download the POI files which alert you of all these speed traps.

You need to be member at this web: mysingmaps.com. in order to d/l the file. I believe that bro Ben (SKC Touke) is also the member. Alternatively, you could check out the Rio general chat about GPS thread- GPS Garmin Maps.

If u r change to a sony erisson, get the P1i..then get a gps receiver..install tomtom software. then it will be good enough.or a tomtom gps device is also good..nuvi 200 is good..i use tat before with free map from mysingmap forum as my nuvi200 is bought from sweden.
At 1st i dont agree with using GPS in spore as i am very familiar with spore road.but as the petrol price is shooting rocket high, i think GPS is gd as it will guide u the shortest route and help u save alot of time n fuel too...

All those hotspots portable speed cam warnings are manually input by the programmer and the source is from LTA. The speed warning can be turned off too...
