Hi guys.. seems no one is active in this forum! hahahaha.. anyway, juz wanna tell u guys that I went to JB to pump CNG (NGV). Per KG/litre is RM0.693. I pumped 13KG/litre and it only cost me RM9. [ (C)heap (N) (G)ood ] I also purchased my 1st tank of petrol from Caltex, paid RM138. Both product was purchased on last Sat 28 Jun 2008, till date, I still have slightly below 3/4 tank of petrol left and have topped up CNG in SG Mandai yesterday 1st of July 08. Savings? Alot!!! _______________________________________ Guys, juz wanna ask if you guys are given the netting to be fitted at the end of the boot space to prevent your items from falling out when u open the rear door upon collecting your sportage? Regards! so what is the saving like? more than 50%? netting? i think u can get it at places like autobac, stamford tyre and such places hi there.. 1.5 mths wait isn't too bad really. U'll be getting a model with no elevated elbow rest but with cruise control and a lower engine bay similar to the face lift version like mine. So far i have not recorded the mileage on a full tank of CNG but from my observation, it would be 1 pump every 3 days for CNG. Till date, my sportage petrol is all from Msia. So as for savings wise, quite substantial taking into consideration that gas is dirt cheap in Msia. Savings as compared previously is roughly about 30-40% in $$. Still monitoring the cost and the frequency of pump for CNG. My practice after getting the sportage is to heading into Msia once every week to get a full tank of gas and petrol.

I have the cruise control, fog lights, step-ups and the single layer console box. My engine bay is exactly the same as the 08 model, lower and less neat. Guess u'd have to wait for quite awhile bcoz there's now an influx of cars fitting CNG. Like me, I waited close to 3 months for my ride, was rather agonizing but well, i'm savouring every moment with my new ride now. U'll do the same too when u get ur sportage.

i was close to getting the sportage last saturday but but unfortunately se din want to throw in leather seats and the their offer price for my current ride was too low. so had to give it a miss. but test drive the newer model not bad and the power is good too. but they did not have a model car for show with the CNG tank in it... so could only 'imagine' how mush space the tank takes at the back.

Mind if I ask wad is ur current ride now and how much did they offer? Republic Auto offered quite low price for my 04 civic but still i went ahead with the deal. Anyway guys, CNG at Mandai is at $1.73/KG. I suggest that perhaps u guys can keep any plans to purchase a CNG vehicle on hold. At this rate, CNG might really become more expensive than petrol. 1. Not worth the 3 months wait for a CNG vehicle 2. Current price of CNG only offer marginal savings against petrol 3. If you stay in the East, you've gotta drive all the way to Mandai / Jalan Buroh / Malaysia to top up gas. 4. Potential for CNG to be the more expensive alternative as compared to petrol in future Those are some of the points that I feel one should keep any plans on a CNG vehicle on hold until the government says something abt the monopolized natural gas market. Just my 0.02 cents worth.

My Sportage sold to a dealer at a 'not bad' price. Bought @ 70K, sold 40K. Use for exactly 3 years & 1 month. Mean I lost < 10K per year only.

I fixed my sportage wif CNG.will take 2 mths for the Q though..Yah, its natural gas. For nw, the refil plc are pretty far unless u stay in the west. but 2009, gt 2 or 3 more plcs confermed b ready so more places to go to, n even JB got. depends on car, sm car are dependent onli on CNG, but i suggest take the dual wer u need both petrol n gas wic u can alternate the use. for now, there is no petrol tax but in future nt so sure. As smone mentioned, it cost 4k plus to install cos of the govt rebate so thus the best time to get it. But best if u can get in hse installation so waranty covers any probs wif CNG n ur car together. cos if u do it outside of KIA, i tink ur waranty will b void. n its HUGE THE TANK I MIGHT SAY, UNLEess ur boot is as big as a SUV.if u use size like honda jazz, ur whole boot will be compromised. U do know there are risks to CNG like more risk of combustion, hahaa, wen there is heavy rain n lightning, even the refill stations will be closed. However, reviews frm CNG users sd it is cheaper to use CNG than petrol, but CNG price willincrease in time. And i dun know hw worth it it is to take up CNG in the end after all that. Hope this helps....hehe..I myself installed CNG wif KIA. Got tot try to c if its worth it for myself too.ehhehe.. lOve, Butterfly....

Okay, finally, nearly 3 months of wait, i got my CNG sportage 2 days ago!!!
So far so good, try monitor the FC for the new car, petrol usage is about 8KM/L, CNG is around 11.5KM/KG... CNG is way more economical as compare to petrol if the figure is correct, anyway, the car has not run in, only about 600KM clocked.

Got my SPORTAGE a mth ago...
Tink i m regrteting CNG cos it makes the ride less smooth and i cant filter in n out lane as easily.Pick up becomes slow.. n its a abit "mendak". Even wen ma frens drove the CNG and later petrol, all can see or feel the difference..
Not to mention tt the CNG finish very fastt seiiiii.............

Hi to all, its been a real long time since I visited this forum. Have been away abroad shortly after I got my CNG sportage and hence the MIA status. Just curious, are there lots more CNG sportages on the road lately?
