Hi bros and sisters, Recently I changed to Mobil 1 0w-30 advanced fuel economy EO. About a couple of weeks later, the Oil Pressure warning light would flicker whenever I idled after being stuck in a traffic jam or climbed a steep hill. Revving the engine while neutral makes it go away. Never had this problem with 5w-30/10w-30 oils. Added CD2 engine treatment (looks like 10w50 oil...) and the low pressure warning light now doesn't flicker. Any of you had the same issue before?

I have no problem using it. Mobil 1 0w-30 advanced fuel economy is API SN and is safe.

From what I know, in Singapore, as we don't have winter, the 0/5/10 rating in front of the w30 does not matter that much compared to the 30/40/50 after the "w" (winter grade) Anyway an update, so far after pouring a bottle of CD2, all seems ok. Fuel economy is also good... 13.8-14.4km/l for last 4 petrol top ups. Attachments:

For high mileage vehicle, it is better to use 10w30

SAE stands for Society for automotive engineers is a rating used to tell us the characteristic of the e oil and its viscosity of the oil. 0/5/10 stands for the oil will freeze under those temperature. While the 30/40/50 behind states the viscosity which in layman terms is the thickness of the oil 30 being least thick.

Just to share abit.
All standards are minimum. Lower than these stds reduce demand and might damage engine.
Dont bother abt viscosity, read the specs and pay attn to the viscosity at 100°C, unless your engine running at atmosphere temp.
High revving of engine when cold not recommended becos eo viscosity still very thick, causing more fiction.
Want super high performance eo? Ask race shops how they mis friction modifier. Remember its race shop, not accessories shop.

Engine oil low? Maybe the oil pressure switch spoil?

Start engine, open eo cap, clean the surface, cover your hand over it. After few mins if your hand oily, check oil pressure sensor. If hand dry, shine into the hole to see an oil, if dry, check oil pump asap.
