Hi bros,
Just saw a truck fetching a used half cut front car. Is it legal to cut like this? What is the positive and negative of joining the half cut parts with original intact parts? Any idea?

People dont 'join' vehicle chassis. Most likely people buy the whole halfcut to dismantle parts like engine gearbox i.e. Joining vehicle is illegal and not LTA approved. In my profession handling claim for insurance company for years, some workshop illegally do that for owner to prevent car from total loss. And owners sell their car to other unsuspecting victim and i encountered new owner getting into accident and die. Imho this is no difference from selling car with faulty brake or damaged wheel which could cause serious fatal accident. I could share more if there is a next meetup.
