Dear all, have anyone have this problem ? I had been having this problem for the past 2 months. When I press unlock the remote, my car lock would lock back by itself. I have to try several times before I can unlock the door. When to a car remote shop, the staff said it is not remote issue, likely to be central lock pump. I went to a car workshop, the mechanic told me that the central lock come as a complete door lock device, and I will need to change the entire door lock with each set cost around $380 per door. Does any one have any advice / recommendation ? Is it possible to just change the central lock part ? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem as yours. It was diagnosed as the alarm/lock problem, so changed to aftermarket alarm, so far its fine. but sometimes it will lock again but not as often. previously the car will also re lock if manually unlock the car. Perhaps you could get a 2nd opinion from another workshop before deciding?

Mine also got erratic self lock issue. It have been happening quite frequent nowadays.
I have not actually go and troublesome the matter.
Mine do have a aftermarket alarm(link to auto lock once brake pedal is depress) initial but under utilized due to lost of both remote.
Will probably install a new set of alarm to see if it helps.

The real reason is contact issue. I had this problem after a while with the Sephia, Spectra and Cerato. Apparently, the installer twist the wiring together instead of soldering it. This results in contact issues as the cable ages. Here is the funny thing, after an accident where my old Spectra was sent in to repair a dented door, the problem disappeared when it came back. I presume because they had to remove the door, they also adjusted the wiring. Of course, a less likely reason is what they indicated, a defective locking gun that needs to be replaced.

i have the same problem. Few mths ago changed the alarm. still got problem. Problem is intermittent...finally the mechanic managed to troubleshoot.i noticed if i unlock the door via remote or manually..door will relock. times when it does not usually if i open the driver door only it will relock..if other doors were opened first..it usually does not relock. Door was dismantled. in the end its the driver side, the whole locking mechanism has to be changed. Costs $280 original part, inclusive labour. Now no problem. The mechanic commented that kia cerato locking mechanism is wire cable..if its metal they can modify and costs much cheaper.
