Hi, I bought a used stock silver picanto recently and I would like to know how to check the fuel consumption. I did try to used the litre pump in the petrol kiosk to divide with my picanto km record. I alway get 7.2 km/litre. Is there any thing wrong with my FC?
Normal is travel between point A to B with one infant and my wife only.

Hi Joey, thanks for your professional advise and check. Now I'm more peace with my picanto. Will send my car to your workshop for the next servicing. Thank you.

It's the method of calculation. Do not trust the Fuel Gauge Needle. It is purposely retarded to prevent it from fluctuating too much. The best way to have a trigger point is the Fuel Empty Lamp. Once the Lamp lights up, top up petrol (must be consistent, try to us Auto-stop). Divide the mileage travelled with the no of litres topped up. Average as many tanks as possible to have a good gauge of the FC.

thanks for the advice, Joey ... so my method of using the fuel gauge needle is not so accurate after all ... heehee
full tank (pump to brim) to 3/4 tank - 150 to 180 km 3/4 tank to half tank - 80 to 100 km half tank to 1/4 tank - 80 to 100 km 1/4 tank to empty - 60 to 80 km
