Duno abt Firestone, But I dun trust Falken ESP on wet. Go for Continental for touring class and Michelin for performance.

A more budget option will be Kumho.

Lost confidence in Falken many years ago after my 512 lost grips over and over again on my previous Picanto....

My Rio 1.4A is currently on 14" stock rims, I'm wondering if it is ok for me to use 185/55R14 tyres on it?

Hmm... no replies but anyway, just got my tyres fixed in JB. Went for GoodYear's Duraplus 185/65R14 at RM170 ea, not sure if it's a good buy not but definitely feel more stable and quieter after my previous worn out tyres.
