Hmm.. I think using the stock produce the least heat for the engine coz with lower flow rate of air means lower combustion rate. This in turns produces less heat.

Park ur car in mscp n dun even drive out cfm engine is clean n no heat! Hahaha joking... Engine clean or not actually depends on how u maintain. If u prefer cleaner engine, put in more efforts in maintaining it. Wat most ppl concern is how drivable is our cars...

In the past, I also put emphasis on the cleanliness of the air that goes into the engine. After driving for some time, I changed my mind. Reason being, the car is going to be with you 10 years at most. 10 years whether the engine is in good or bad condition, it still goes to the scrap yard. For new cars, it may be gone well before the 10 years.

Hmm I tot lower flow of air means lesser cool air into engine, thus engine heats up even faster? Anyway it's true how clean the engine depends on how u maintain it. Service regularly n Chang eng oil, keep ur air box clean n do throttle body cleaning where necessary during servicing. Sure no problem.. How far u wana go maintaining it is ur choice... Most impt is u like it...

What type of filter to use? As long they filter air, they are good.
K&N, hurricane or manufacturer's filter? I personally prefer K&N for its element filtration. SS filter holes just too big, for me.
Which filter reduces engine heat? Filter does not reducer engine heat.
Factory connects hot engine oil fumes to enter your intake manifold, your engine still running hot. Factory links hot coolant to your throttlebody, your intake still hot.

I have tried K&N (used about 2 yrs) and a blue colour filter (used about 6 mths; forgotten the brand) before. Than go back to stock for almost a year. Personally i prefer a quite and cleaner engine. However, I still kept my CAI.
